Chapter 6 Get Your Ticket to Hell Ready

  • "Daddy, hurry up," Denise urged.
  • "Huh, oh, okay," Daniel answered at once and ate the food forthrightly. He couldn't care less about Janice's warning gaze anymore.
  • Seeing so, Janice flew into anger out of embarrassment. "Can you not just bite the food?!"
  • She thought what he did just now was over-romantically ambiguous. After all, it had only been a few hours since they got acquainted.
  • However, as much as she couldn't stand it, she only shot Daniel a glare and stopped pursuing the matter.
  • After dinner, the two played with Denise for a while before urging the little girl to bed, seeing it was about time.
  • "Okay," Denise replied before throwing herself into Daniel's arms, chorusing with a smile, "Let's go, Daddy. Time to sleep with Mommy and me!"
  • While Daniel was stumped by her words, Janice interjected, "Denise, Daddy has to go and catch bad guys now. He can only come back tomorrow. Mommy will sleep with you, okay?"
  • Denise reeled with bewilderment for a second, and her eyes turned red-rimmed in two shakes, pouting. "No!" She bawled at once. "The mommies and… and daddies always sleep together on TV! Why… Why can't… Daddy sleep with us…"
  • The little one latched herself onto Daniel as she sobbed, unwilling to leave him no matter how Janice cajoled.
  • Livid with frustration, she glared at Daniel, signaling for him to deal with it.
  • Unsurprisingly, Daniel's heart melted at his little girl's cry, and he patted her back while crooning, "There, there. I won't leave then, okay? I'll sleep with you and Mommy."
  • Janice's eyes widened at that. Excuse me?!
  • She was willing to overlook the spoon incident, but it didn't mean he could try pushing his luck!
  • Seeing the animosity on Janice's face, Daniel hurriedly mouthed, "Lull her to sleep first. I'll leave after that."
  • It was only then that Janice's countenance turned for the better.
  • After that, Daniel paced the living room with Denise in his arms.
  • Kids tend to fall asleep quicker after a cry, and Denise was asleep on Daniel's shoulder in less than half an hour.
  • After taking the little girl from him, Janice warned, "You might be hired, but it doesn't mean I'll overlook the kidnapping. If I find out you have something to do with this, you're dead meat!"
  • With that, she shooed the man out of her house without hesitation.
  • Women sure are strange creatures. Daniel chuckled to himself and headed downstairs after taking a reluctant glance at the shut main door.
  • After arriving at the ground floor, he stopped smiling and disappeared from where he stood.
  • Meanwhile, in the greenery not far from the entrance of the apartment complex crouched two men.
  • "Sh*t, this chick is hot. No wonder Mr. Doyle likes her so much."
  • "Hey, hey, look, the guy's out. Wait. Where did he go?"
  • At that, the two parted the bush and popped their heads out, only to see black as something cold pressed on one of their foreheads—a cold, black muzzle.
  • "You—why do you have a gun?!" The other guy was so terror-stricken that his legs turned to jelly at once.
  • "D-Dude, take it easy. Let's talk things out." The man with the muzzle pressed on his forehead raised his hands in the air as cold sweat drenched his face, fearing that the cold object in Daniel's hand would go off accidentally.
  • "Fletcher Doyle sent you two?" Daniel's voice was eerily cold, like from the depths of Tartarus, making the two guys shudder in fear as they hurriedly nodded in affirmation.
  • "Where is he?"
  • "T-Thunder Bar."
  • Thunder Bar… That's Tigre's turf. Daniel frowned and ordered impassively, "Take me there."
  • He thought things weren't as simple as they seemed, judging from the conversation between the three kidnappers.
  • "R-Right away!" The two lackeys obliged without even a second thought.
  • Daniel put his gun away and said to the air, "Have the phantom guards secure this place."
  • The two guys were rendered stumped at once, wondering who Daniel was talking to.
  • Suddenly, a voice came from their surrounding darkness. "Yes, sir."
  • Terror-stricken, the two dared not even think of running away, obediently taking Daniel to Thunder Bar.
  • Soon, they arrived at their destination, and one of them announced deferentially, "This is it. Mr. Doyle's inside. You can go in alone—"
  • Before he could finish his words, Daniel shifted his gaze to the two of them. His eyes were like a pair of daggers piercing through them, and the man dared not continue speaking.
  • The booming music traveled to Daniel's ears as he entered the bar.
  • At first glance, he found many young men and women grinding against each other on the dance floor. The whole place reeked of sex and booze.
  • Just as he walked, someone called out to him from behind. "Daniel?"
  • He turned around to find Tia walking arm in arm with Aidan, looking at the former with surprise.
  • Daniel, too, was surprised to see his sister. "Tia? What are you doing here?"
  • "Don't call me that. We're not close," Tia scowled, looking grim.
  • Daniel sighed under his breath, seeing how impassive his sister was to him.
  • Looks like Tia's hatred for me goes deeper than I thought.
  • Aside, Aidan sneered, "What are you doing here, Hardon? I'll have you know this is Westhill's most expensive bar."
  • In other words, Daniel couldn't afford to pay for anything here.
  • Daniel frowned in response, but before he could say anything, the two lackeys gulped and said, choosing their words carefully, "Boss, Mr. Doyle's in here."
  • "Boss?" Something seemed to have crossed Tia's mind when she saw the two men next to Daniel dressed like scoundrels, and frost instantly enveloped her face, denouncing Daniel, "So you really hired an actor to lie to Mom and Dad! I can't believe you've become a scoundrel! Have you no shame at all?! Do you know how Dad kept speaking up for you yesterday?! He's still convinced that you've joined the army! Does it not pain you to see Dad heartbroken?!"
  • Clearly, Tia had misunderstood, but the current situation forbade him from explaining it to her in detail. At that, he said, "Tia, it's not what you think. You go home first. I'll explain to you when I have the time."
  • With that, he turned around and signaled the lackeys to lead the way.
  • Behind, Tia gnashed her teeth in anger, wanting to turn and leave at once, but Aidan suddenly stopped her. "Tia, why don't we follow after him and see if he's lying?"
  • Nothing would please him more for Tia to see Daniel, the scoundrel, Hardon in action.
  • After the gathering in Coastal Jewel, Tia's old man suddenly refused to say yes to their marriage, and he didn't even need to think to know Daniel was the reason behind it.
  • If Daniel really was a scoundrel as he believed it to be, then there would be no more reason for that old f*cker to refuse anymore.
  • Meanwhile, Tia thought, Did you say I've mistaken? Well, I'd like to see for myself if you're still lying!
  • The two lackeys suddenly stopped and pointed to a private room covered up by a sheer curtain across from him. "Boss, Mr. Doyle's in here. Can we go now?"
  • Hell, they wanted no part in this.
  • One was from a local elite family, while the other possessed a gun.
  • Either could kill them at any moment.
  • "Yes." Daniel patted their backs.
  • Elated, the two scurried away like they were escaping death.
  • But little did they know their left arms would paralyze in another half an hour.
  • Daniel hadn't been crowned Hades for nothing.
  • Inside the private room seated about half a dozen men and over a dozen girls—all having just barely reached legal age—in revealing clothing.
  • Seated in the middle was a grim Fletcher with a beauty in each of his arms, whom he would knead fiercely every now and then.
  • As painful as the young women were, they dared not utter a single word.
  • "F*cking hypocritical b*tch. I've been after her for a year, but she'd rather date a f*cker than take a look at me. I swear I'll f*ck her tomorrow if I find out she let that f*cker stay over at her home! F*ck, I should've just told the three b*stards to kill that love child!" Fletcher's eyes were filled with bitter resentment.
  • At that, he turned to the person next to him and scowled, "Why haven't the two b*stards come back yet?! Go and see if they're back yet."
  • The man hurriedly got up and headed out, only to be sent flying back into the room and slammed onto the wall, causing the young women to scream in horror.
  • Fletcher's eyes widened upon seeing so, and he shot up in anger. "Who did this?!"
  • The next second, a tall figure sauntered in, and the room was instantly shrouded in a bone-chilling aura, making everyone shudder.
  • "You!" thundered Fletcher after taking a good look at who it was.
  • "So it really is you," said Daniel coldly as he looked expressionlessly at Fletcher. "Then, have you gotten your ticket to hell ready?"
  • With that, animosity surged beneath Daniel's gaze, so piercing that one could not look him in the eyes.
  • At the same time, a horrifyingly oppressive aura burst from within him, causing everyone in the room to bend over like they had been crushed by a mountain, unbearably uncomfortable.
  • "I don't know what you're talking about!" declared Fletcher, biting the bullet.
  • "You'll know soon enough," Daniel announced coldly.
  • "F*ck!" Fletcher's gaze burned ablaze. "Mangle him! I'll settle the consequences!"
  • With that, his lackeys each grabbed a liquor bottle, crossed the table, and smashed the bottles toward Daniel.
  • Fletcher smirked in response, eager to see Daniel mangled and defeated.
  • However, the next second, the smirk on his face froze as his eyes widened with utter incredulity.
