Chapter 110

  • I walked down the hallway with purpose. I had been here for a week and they still refused to let me leave. I felt the familiar press of invisible chains reminding me that I couldn’t just run away. I held my stomach to help support it as it swayed with my steps. At this rate, I was going to end up giving birth in the dragon kingdom surrounded by strangers. I wanted to go home. Where was Darren?
  • The dragons told me that he was no longer on the battlefield and that he went searching for me. Somehow he’d vanished, and they were concerned he may have been captured. My mate would not have been easily captured. If he was taken, there would be evidence left behind. It would be hard to completely subdue him without a fight, especially with his immunity to most poisons.
  • As I approached the main throne room, I felt a tiny hand place theirs on my arm. I looked down to see beautiful silver eyes and jet black hair. It was the little dragon prince, Thorin, who had taken a shine to me.
