• When I saw it, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Descending majestically before me was an enormous dragon, its sheer size casting an imposing shadow across the ground. Its scales shimmered like polished obsidian, reflecting the moonlight with an otherworldly gleam. Two vast black wings unfurled from its back, each powerful beat creating a gale that rustled the nearby trees and sent dust swirling into the air. It landed with a thunderous impact between me and my pursuers, the ground trembling beneath its weight. Flames danced and snaked along the earth as it unleashed a deafening roar, the sound reverberating through the air and sending my would-be captors fleeing in terror. As their figures disappeared into the distance, the dragon slowly turned its massive head, fixing its piercing golden eyes upon me, their fiery depths intimidating and mesmerizing.
• I could see the burning light in his throat, and I knew I couldn’t withstand the flames. A desperate cry for power sent lightning surging toward the dragon. He swiftly flapped his wings, juking to the side and successfully dodging my last-ditch effort attack. I still wasn’t quite sure how to control it, but I was understanding and recognizing it more and more.
