Chapter 29 Ventotto

  • I finally canceled Barcelona and Madrid for Switzerland. Maybe because I felt guilty about Levi, or maybe because I felt safer having someone I knew around. Whatever it was, I didn't regret it. Switzerland was just as I had imagined, expensive but also beautiful.
  • I stayed at Levi's apartment in Zurich for a while and got to see his office. His apartment was far smaller than the one in Bali, but it felt more like home. After Ferro arrived from London, he accompanied me to Lugano while Levi stayed in Zurich. We spent two days in Lugano, and then Ferro and I went to Levi's family house in Brissago. The house in Brissago left me speechless! Besides being spacious, the terrace and swimming pool faced Lake Maggiore, the largest lake in Ticino, one of the cantons—like provinces in Indonesia. Every morning, I had breakfast there and felt like a VIP guest. Everything seemed like plucked out of the reality show about beautiful houses.
  • "Seriously, Glenn, you should consider staying a bit longer. Make Paris, Rome, or even Zurich your base. You don't have to worry about accommodation."
