Chapter 27 Ventisei
- I spent the afternoon on the balcony, thinking about my meeting with Levi. Why did it have to be at the beginning of my European trip? It would've been different if I met him at the airport when I was about to go back to Indonesia. We could've made small talk for a bit and said goodbye. But meeting Levi at Il Riccio meant that he knew where I was staying and wanted to introduce me to his boyfriend. I casually asked the receptionist if there was a reservation under Levi's name at Monzu, and their response made my head spin. I was screwed!
- I wanted to look slightly different for dinner, not to impress Levi, but because it was my last night in Capri. I wore the shirt I bought at one of the boutiques in Anacapri yesterday. The light pink linen shirt immediately caught my attention; luckily, it was the right size. The price? Not much different from what was displayed in the shops along Oberoi. I paired it with navy chino pants and brown loafers. I disliked dressing up, yet I wanted to look good. If Zack were here, he would tease me endlessly.
- I left the room a little before half past seven, and as soon as I arrived at Monzu, Paolo—the maitre d' who looked like he belonged on the cover of Men's Health or in a music video of a world-famous pop star—greeted me. There was also the sound of a mandolin playing, which I later learned from Paolo, a traditional Neapolitan musical instrument. Paolo immediately escorted me to the table reserved by Levi.
