Chapter 2 I'm Interested in You

  • Before Selena could reject the driver, a man dressed in a black suit dragged her into the car and cuffed her hands together before speeding down the road. "Who are you guys? What do you guys want from me?" Selena was puzzled. She eventually gave up on protesting since no one answered her questions, and she ended up falling asleep at the back of the car.
  • The car made its way to a parking lot, and Selena opened her eyes when she felt the car slowing down. She let out a huge yawn as the men in suits led her to a meeting room. Once she was in there, she lifted her legs on the chair and sat cross-legged. She had just gotten herself comfortable and was about to take another nap when the meeting room's door flung open. The man who walked in was dressed in a black shirt. He had deep, brown eyes, and there was a forbidding aura surrounding his figure that made others afraid of him.
  • Selena curled her lips into a smirk, and she glanced at her handcuffs before speaking. "It's our first time meeting each other, Mr. Hayden. Is this how you treat your fiancée?" she asked.
  • Dimitri took a long, thoughtful look at the woman before him. "Do you know me?" There was a stern look in his eyes. "I've had the opportunity to take a look at your few pictures in the past, Mr. Hayden. Now that we are meeting in person, I really have to thank my grandfather for arranging this marriage," she teased.
  • Dimitri's face darkened upon hearing her words. "Well, I'm not happy about the marriage. I can promise you anything you want as long as you agree to leave Astonville, Miss Young." With that said, the man pulled out an empty check. His intentions were clear—he was telling her that he was willing to give her any amount of money.
  • Selena laughed again when she saw the blank cheque in front of her. "You sure are a generous man, Mr. Hayden. Unfortunately, I'm not very interested in your money. However… I am interested in you," she said with a smirk. The man's grim and hostile aura grew stronger than before. "Know your limits, Miss Young—" Before he could finish his sentence, Selena interrupted him. "What is it? Are you planning to kill me if I disagree with your offer? That's a shame. I'm not afraid of death."
  • A dangerous look flashed through the man's eyes when he next looked at her. Selena, on the other hand, didn't seem intimidated by him as she met his gaze with a bright smile. "You might have to hurry up if you want to kill me, Mr. Hayden. I disappeared from the airport a while ago, so I'm sure Old Mr. Hayden will track me down and find me here soon."
  • Dimitri was silent for a few seconds before he let out a laugh. "Great. This is great." He hadn't had anyone provoke him in that manner for years. "You're being too kind, Mr. Hayden. Anyway, can I leave if you don't have anything else to say?"
  • "Scram," the man hissed in a cold voice.
  • Selena got to her feet with the same pleasant smile on her face. "I look forward to our engagement tomorrow, Mr. Hayden. Goodbye!"
  • The man wore a sour look on his face as he watched Selena walk out of the room. As she was heading out, he realized how she was dressed in some of the latest releases from Dior. The Young Family has gone bankrupt for years now. Where did she get the money to buy all of that? Dimitri's gaze darkened as he thought, Could this woman have some ulterior motive?
