• Nathaniel’s POV.
• I woke up to the playful screams and running around of my two daughters in my room, my heart was filled with joy and happiness. Two weeks ago, the only sounds I heard were the opening of metal bar doors, dogs barking, and guards shouting out orders endlessly. The air outside the prison feels so different, it smells like freedom, I am still trying to shake off the experience of being a convict.
• I spent most of my time with my two angels, I have left them for so long that I have to make up for all those lost time, I braid Natasha's hair, taught Emily how to make pancakes, dress them up for school before heading to the hospital to see my father, I talk to his body laying still on the bed, plugged with pipes and machine, there so much I wish I had said to him two years ago.
