Chapter 9 I Must Be Out of My Mind To Want You Back

  • When Xu Changshu’s was heard, Mu Zhi was startled at once.
  • She quickly moved further away from Lu Junnian. The moment Xu Changshu opened the door and saw her, the smile in her eyes disappeared.
  • But she kept a smirk on her face, and said, “Eh? Zhi, you are here too! I haven’t heard from you for a long time, how have you been?”
  • Phony! Disgustingly phony!
  • Mu Zhi clenched her fists tightly and looked at Xu Changshu. She had had countless inclination to confront Xu Changshu for what she had done, but had held herself back.
  • She would forever remember how Xu Changshu ruined her prospects in this field, and the type of life she had to go through because of her.
  • Whenever she wanted to find a job in the medical field, she would always be rejected repeatedly until she couldn’t hide her pregnancy anymore. Meanwhile, her mother was hospitalized and she became desperately in need of money.
  • Mu Zhi borrowed a lot of money to for the labor, but she did not have the means to support her, nor provide for her mother’s hospitalization expenses. Her five jobs per day weren’t even enough to reimburse the interest of the money she borrowed.
  • If it weren’t for her child, she would have committed suicide.
  • It was also at that time when she met Lu Jinye. He needed a contracted wife. She overheard him mentioning it when she was working as a bartender, so she volunteered to let Lu Jinye buy her.
  • Then she gave her daughter, Mu Xiaomu, to Jian Xiaoning temporarily to help raise her. She would always visit her lovely daughter whenever she had time.
  • At that time, Mu Zhi was living a depressing life. After meeting Lu Jinye, she had hoped to pull herself out of the water, so she had forgotten Xu Changshu and Lu Junnian.
  • She didn’t think of any revenge and even avoided them. But they found her.
  • “Owing to your care, Madam Xu, I have been good all these years.”
  • There was a smile on Mu Zhi’s face when she emphasized the word ‘care’.
  • “Care?”
  • Standing next to her, Lu Junnian was puzzled. He looked at Mu Zhi and asked.
  • Xu Changshu smiled and responded without any trace of guilt conscience, “I have been in City A for the past few years and barely returned to City C, so I didn’t really take enough care of Zhi. I thought Zhi wasn’t in City C anymore because I rarely get to hear about her.”
  • Mu Zhi looked at Xu Changshu and sneered, “Thank you, Madam Xu, for your concern, but I’m afraid I’ve disappointed you.”
  • “I’m sorry, please excuse me, I have something else on.”
  • After having said this, Mu Zhi opened the door and walked out.
  • She stepped into the elevator. However, just as it was about to move downwards, the door was opened. Lu Junnian strode into it, took a look at Mu Zhi and said, “Why are you always avoiding me?”
  • “Your mother does not bless our relationship. Now that we are not committed to seeing each other, I’m not hiding from you, but keeping a safe distance.”
  • The elevator simultaneously arrived at the ground floor as Mu Zhi finished her sentence. She stepped out, but was held back by the hand by Lu Junnian again.
  • “I don’t want to keep any safe distance from you.”
  • Mu Zhi reached into her pocket, took out a ring and showed it to Lu Junnian, “I’m married, I’m just not used to wearing my wedding ring.”
  • This time, Lu Junnian could not restrain himself anymore. He seized Mu Zhi’s ring and toss it out.
  • “Don’t even think about using this ring to delude me!”
  • As he said that, he grabbed Mu Zhi’s hand and shouted at her, “If you plan to use this sort of ring to delude me into thinking that you’re taken, then I shall give you a hundred of rings.”
  • Mu Zhi attempted to struggle, “Lu Junnian, let me go!” But Lu Junnian held Mu Zhi tight, and did not put her down until she was in his car.
  • Mu Zhi instinctively tried to open the car door to go back and look for her ring.
  • However, Lu Junnian had already locked the car and slammed onto the accelerator, speeding towards the nearest jewelry store.
  • “I must be out of my mind to want you back!”
