Chapter 6 Exceptionally Harmonious

  • Mu Zhi drank half a bottle of wine. In a drunken stupor she fell asleep.
  • In the middle of the night, she woke when she felt there was someone in her room. She was about to sit up to check who it was but was too lazy to open her eyes. So instead, she listened to the sounds of someone showering in the bathroom. When the sound of running water came to a stop, she found a tall man standing before her.
  • Mu Zhi opened her eyes slightly and whispered, “Honey.”
  • Lu Jinye bent at the waist to pick her up from the couch. He smelled the faint scent of wine on her, “Why did you drink so much? Did something happen?”
  • Mu Zhi batted his questions away. She forced a big smile for Lu Jinye. “What could happen to me? My honey spoils me. My husband is Lu Jinye. What could possibly happen? I’m happy! Ecstatic!”
  • As she was speaking, she wanted to sit up to give him a kiss.
  • Her wriggling about in his embrace did nothing but bring them closer. Their bare skin rubbed against each other, heating their skin.
  • When Lu Jinye got her onto their bed, he took off all her clothes. He wanted her.
  • Mu Zhi was drunk and extremely cooperative. In fact, she initiated and pushed him to go further.
  • This turned Lu Jinye on.
  • In regard to their sexual part of their relationship, ever since the day they got married, they have been extremely compatible.
  • It was neither of their firsts. But Mu Zhi was as shy as if it was.
  • After that, thanks to Lu Jinye’s prowess and Mu Zhi’s tacit cooperation, they have enjoyed that part of their relationship for the past three years.
  • They seemed to have also wordlessly agreed to not pry into anything outside of this part of their lives.
  • Lu Jinye did not know about Mu Zhi’s past. Nor did she prob him regarding the many rumors surrounding him.
  • She was his secretary by day and his sweet wife at night.
  • The next day, Mu Zhi woke to see her husband’s handsome face next to hers. She felt the soreness in her body and knew what had happened the night before.
  • She could not recall what had happened last night and the details were kind of foggy… But how many times did she come last night to make her whole body ache like this? Was this man going to squeeze himself dry?
  • Mu Zhi chuckled in disbelief. She got up to use the bathroom. By the time she got back, Lu Jinye was awake. He had a smile on his lips and was looking at her.
  • “Why did you drink so much last night?”
  • “My husband went out on a date with another woman. Anyone would get jealous.”
  • Mu Zhi answered Lu Jinye half-heartedly. But on the outside, she pretended to be serious.
  • Lu Jinye smiled and pulled her into his embrace. He stroked her hair a few times before letting her go and went into the bathroom.
  • “If you were truly jealous, then today I should invest in a lottery ticket. I’ll be sure to strike the grand prize.”
  • Mu Zhi watched him walk into the bathroom before she let her smile fade.
  • Was there such a small chance that she was jealous? Was it really as rare as winning a lottery ticket…
  • Should she get jealous more often then? Or will this be too much of a hit to his confidence?
  • Mu Zhi shook her head in exasperation. What was she thinking about…
  • She did not know what was happening recently. With their divorce coming up soon, she felt that Lu Jinye was acting flirtier with her than before.
  • No. She had to control herself.
  • When they reached the company, she got out of Lu Jinye’s car and used the staff elevator to get away from him. She reached the office and noticed that something was amiss.
  • It was exceptionally quiet…
  • Usually this early in the day, people would be walking about with their coffees and catching up on the latest gossip about the chairman. What was going on today?
  • When she got to her station, the assistant secretary they had just hired nudged her…
  • She raised her chin to see a woman waiting in the reception area. Her tall model-like figure, noble, elegant temperament and clear gaze all showed that she… Was different from the many hussies Lu Jinye had had before her.
  • It just so happened that when the woman turned, Mu Zhi was not quick enough to look away and so their eyes met.
  • The woman stood and walked towards Mu Zhi’s direction.
