Chapter 3 Doctor,Doctor Anything Please

  • “NO! Please take me back, please we can find her I know she’s in there somewhere and ….”
  • “That’s enough Kayden you’re just drunk … there’s no way you can claim that stripper is your mate, are you even listening to yourself,” Zaide exploded as his grip on the steering wheel tightened.
  • Kayden clenched his fists. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, drowning out reason. They didn’t understand. They couldn’t. He turned toward Zayne, his last hope.
  • “No, you need to understand, I felt it t, the bond her scent….I felt it all,” his voice was raw, almost pleading. “Zayne you should know better than keeping me away from my mate. You know what it feels like, you—" his throat tightened. "You should be able to understand that I’m not speaking under the influence.”
  • Zayne sighed, running a hand down his face, exhaustion lining his features. He didn’t even look angry anymore—just disappointed.
  • “This night was for us to have fun and let loose when we said let loose we didn’t say beat people up and get us kicked out of the club, were going back to the pack house and you’re going to rest clearly you’ve so much to drink,” Zayne concluded.
  • Kayden stared at them, his vision blurring—not from alcohol, but from frustration, he tried to process what they were saying but nothing made sense at all, all he thought of was Alana. But why, why would the moon goddess give him a stripper as a mate, it didn’t quite make sense to him either. Were the two right? Yes maybe he was just drunk and the alcohol played tricks on to get his mind off Silvia. He slumped back against the seat, pressing his palms to his temples as the car sped through the darkened streets as they rode in silence , not certain about what had just occurred.
  • While chaos waited for Alana back at Le Sinsations.
  • “Where is she? Where the fuck is Alana? Is she trying to ruin me…I won’t spare her.” Her boss yelled on top of his lungs as he paced around in his office, rattling glasses and making the staff shrink back. No one had seen her after the stunt that had occurred, she was nowhere to be seen, except for one known place.
  • The place she could call her home, where she could be free from the chains of gravity, where she could transform into her majestic wolf self and run free as the wind ran through her fur. Her beautiful Auburn fur that glistened under the starry night.
  • She came to a stop by the lake, the very lake had embraced her naked body countless times as its flow helped her relive her burdens and have inner peace. She transformed back into her gorgeous human form. But instead of her beautiful smile she burst out into tears not knowing what to make of what she just did.
  • “Why Alana? Why make me understand the fuck you just did to our mate,” her wolf inquired with frustration in her tone.
  • “I….I don’t know Trixie, I just….” The lump in her throat grew bigger as she failed to make a sense.
  • IDIOTIC, FOOLISH and Selfish were the right words to describe what see had done, She felt it too, every inch and spark of the bond. From the time Kayden set his eyes on her to when he set his lips gracefully onto hers. She felt it too. Every spark, every flame that ignited under his touch. From the moment his eyes found hers to the second his lips brushed against hers—it was real. Undeniable. And yet… she had slapped him. Her body betrayed her, craving the mate she swore to reject. Was she a fool for fighting fate? Or a fool for even considering it?
  • “I just don’t understand you, this was your chance our chance to be free from the chains of strippery and poverty, why did you slap him like that huh”
  • Alana didn’t even have or know the answer to justify her actions.
  • “You messed up big time. Let’s go back I’m sure he is still there waiting for us, waiting for to run back in his arms and claim us as his and you…. his lun…”
  • “ENOUGH TRIXIE THAT’S ENOUGH!”
  • “You know very…..very well that we can never ever be with our mate or be Luna and ….”
  • “And what if your thoughts are wrong, what if everything has changed huh? This is a chance for a fresh start a chance for you to take back….”
  • “There is nothing to take back Trix , this is our life now and you’ll have to live with it there’s nothing you can say that will convince me otherwise…..end of discussion.”
  • Trixie whimpered, her presence retreating to the back of Alana’s mind. Alana had never been harsh to her before, but she did it for a good reason… a reason that scarred her for life. It’s ever girls dream to find her fated mate, but for Alana it was more of a nightmare. Flashbacks of her moment with Kay flashed back, his scent a mixture of sandalwood and coffee with a hint of dark vanilla
  • “I’m sorry it has to be like this Trix, but there’s nothing we can do....What we can do now is get dressed and go home I’m sure ma forgot to take her medicine and im most definitely sure Mr. Anderson wont spare me tomorrow when I go for work.”
  • But there was silence, not a word from Trix. Alana sigh hopping eventually her wolf would cheer up and understand there situation. Without wasting any time she quickly got dressed and headed home, she had a mother to take care of and her assumptions were true.
  • When she got back home she found her sick mother was laying on the floor unconscious.
  • ‘’Ma? Ma!” she rushed her mother’s side. “Ma please wake up I’m here.”
  • Maria Blacksmith had been her mother figure for over five years. When Alana was homeless and roaming the streets, she took her in as her own. She raised her along with two of her useless children James and Bridgette Blacksmith.
  • Alana loved Maria with all her heart, her own children despised her for being poor and blamed her for their father running off with a rich young woman. She had suffered from a life threatening disease SLE, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, which required expensive treatments and medication and everything roughly cost $20,000 per year. Alana too care of the expenses with her stripping job and all she asked the two fools was to make sure their mother took her medication on time but they were too stupid to care.
  • Without wasting any more time, she ordered a cab and rushed her to the hospital and they ran some tests. Alana paced outside the emergency room, her heart pounding so loudly it drowned out every other sound around her. She could still see the image burned into her mind—her mother’s frail body sprawled on the living room floor, her breathing shallow, and her lips tinged with a sickly shade of blue.
  • She had barely managed to get her into a cab, screaming at the driver to go faster as she held onto her unconscious form, whispering desperate prayers. Now, standing in the cold hospital hallway, she felt utterly powerless.
  • Doctor Martin finally emerged from the ER, his face grim. Alana rushed toward him, her stomach twisting with fear.
  • The doctor sighed, removing his glasses and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Miss, we’ve run some tests. Your mother’s condition is critical. She hasn’t been taking her medications, and it has caused severe complications."
  • Alana’s breath caught in her throat. "Complications? What complications, Doctor? What’s happening to her?”
  • The doctor’s expression softened slightly, but the weight of his words remained heavy. "Her kidneys are failing. The lupus has advanced aggressively. Without proper medication, her immune system has been attacking her organs. Her body can no longer filter toxins properly. If we don’t act fast, she will go into complete renal failure."
  • Alana staggered back, her legs trembling. "No. No, that can’t happen. She—she was fine just a few days ago."
  • "She wasn’t fine, Ally," Doctor Martin corrected gently. "She was surviving. Her body was already breaking down, but she ignored the warning signs. We need to start dialysis immediately to stabilize her. But…" His hesitation sent ice down Alana’s spine.
  • "What do we do? Tell me what needs to be done!"
  • "We need to start immediate dialysis to stabilize her, but ultimately, she requires surgery and intensive care. The estimated cost is $100,000."
  • "$100,000?!.... Doctor, I don’t have that kind of money right now, but please, you have to help her!"
  • "I understand, but hospital policy requires an upfront payment for such an extensive procedure. We cannot proceed without it."
  • Alana was desperate, holding back tears "Doctor, you know me. You know I’ll pay. I’ll find the money, I swear! Just don’t let my mother die because of this!"
  • “Really I want to help, but—"
  • "Please, Doctor! If she was your mother, would you let her suffer over money? I will do whatever it takes—just start the procedure!" she said with pleading eyes.
  • Doctor Martin sighed sighs, thinking, then nodded reluctantly "Alright. But you’ll have to sign a financial responsibility agreement. If the payment isn't made within the agreed timeframe, legal action will be taken, you’ll be given a maximum of 48 hours to complete the payment."
  • She nodded rapidly "I don’t care. I’ll sign anything! Just save her!"
  • He handed over the documents “Read through this and sign at the bottom. We’ll move her to the OR immediately. . I’m just doing you a favor, it’s against my profession but I know Maria very well and we can’t let a good soul die.”
  • Signing the papers hurriedly she expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much."
  • "We’ll do our best. Now let’s get to work."
  • She spent the night and the morning at the hospital waiting to hear anything about the operation but the doctor didn’t give her any feedback yet. However she had to leave the hospital to look for the money she was going to pay for the operation and treatment. And an idea popped up, she was going to ask her boss to give her a loan and she would pay him back as soon as possible. She made a good sum of money through stripping but not $100000 in one night. But she was left broken and hopeless when she heard the words “YOU ARE FIRED!”
