Chapter 92

• I concentrate on luna’s voice as she starts the slow count, flinching hard when she starts running her fingers through my hair on the top of my head. I turn my attention to alpha as my anxiety evens out, listening to alpha and Madilyn. Her panic about being with me has finally settled down enough that I expect alpha to start questioning her.
• “Madilyn, it’s important that you understand that you’re not in trouble. But it’s also important that you understand how hurtful rumors can be. And in the case of Cole, how dangerous they can be.”
• My eyes snap open and look at alpha but he isn’t looking at me. He and his daughter are eye to eye, Madilyn hanging on to his every word.
