Chapter 223

• I slowly stir awake, completely disoriented as to where I’m at or what’s going on. It’s only as I start moving around that my nervous system comes back to life in a bad way. My head is screaming as the sounds of a massive fight assaults my ears. I want to yelp, whine and whimper from the pain that I’m in but I know in doing so that the pain would increase dramatically.
• I open my eyes quickly despite the raging migraine inside me as I can easily feel the vibrations of several brawling males barely a few feet from where I lay. I push myself away from their advancing feet, collapsing again in agony as the two of them fall to the ground exactly where I was just lying.
• I lay on my side panting hard as I try to recover from the sharp pain radiating through my right arm. I’m holding it tight against my chest as I rock my body side to side gearing up for getting myself out of the way again. I finally get enough nerve to roll away from the men but my effort is stopped short by the trees lining the outside of the sparring ring.
