Chapter 41 She Deserves To Know Nicholas

• The studio was quiet except for the clicking of Leon’s camera and the occasional shuffle of Clara adjusting a reflector. It was late, later than most shoots ran, but Seraphina didn’t mind. She had grown used to Leon’s perfectionist streak and Clara’s sharp eye, and besides,there was something about the silence of a near-empty studio that made her feel as though the world outside had paused just for her.
• Clara leaned against a table stacked with magazines, flipping through a mockup of layouts. “I’ve been thinking” she said, half to herself, half to Seraphina, “We should release another issue soon. Something fresh. While there’s still buzz about the mystery man. If we time it right, we can double the impact.”
• Seraphina’s lips parted as she held a pose, her mind flicking toward those headlines that never seemed to die down. Mystery man. She wasn’t sure if the thought thrilled or terrified her anymore.
