Chapter 15 She Was Already His

• The next few weeks went by in a breeze. Seraphina buried herself in work, trying to keep Nicholas out of her mind. It was easier said than done. He hadn’t come for any of her photoshoots, and though she told herself it was better that way, every time she didn’t see him she felt a tug of disappointment she couldn’t explain.
• The last time she’d properly seen him,where he wasn’t already halfway out the door in the morning,was after their heated argument. He’d told her she could move out if she wanted to, his voice harsh and his eyes cold. She’d been too stunned to speak and only managed to nod. That small gesture had made him angrier, and the look he gave her still burned in her memory.
• Since then, she had drowned herself in the shoots Clara and Leon arranged. Clara had the brilliant idea of reintroducing her to the public with a glossy Sterling Entertainment magazine feature,a full collage that would mark her return as their new model and erase the shadow of Zane and Starlight once and for all.
