Chapter 24 A Step Back In Time (V4)

• It was a warm night in Naples, and the Lupo estate was alive with the electrifying rhythms of an exclusive party. The air was thick with the scent of expensive cigars, alcohol, and something far more sinister; cocaine-fueled euphoria. Fabrizio "The Hammer" Lupo, one of Naples' youngest and most feared mafia bosses, had planned this evening to be a sinful escape from the power struggles that plagued the city. The moody lighting in his grand estate provided the perfect atmosphere for the unbridled pleasure that unfolded within its walls.
• Upstairs, soft moans and sighs of satisfaction filled the air. Fabrizio had just finished with one of his numerous flings; a woman who meant nothing more to him than the next line of cocaine. He sighed, running a hand through his sweat-dampened hair, feeling the sudden irritation brought on by the loud music blaring from downstairs. His wives and sons had arranged for an orgy, and the music was loud enough to mask their loud moans. With an annoyed grunt, he threw on his robe and descended the grand staircase, ready to put an end to the noise. But as he reached the bottom step, the sight that greeted him was beyond his worst nightmares.
• His two wives, his sons, and every single guest were sprawled naked across the floor in unnatural, lifeless positions. Blood pooled around them, staining the once luxurious carpets, the metallic scent filling the room. It was a massacre; unrestrained, and utterly devastating.
