Chapter 19 Lorenzo's Will
- The Moretti family gathered in the grand parlor of the mansion, a sense of tension hanging heavy in the air. The room was filled with serious and sorrowful faces, each family member anxiously awaiting the reading of Lorenzo’s will. The atmosphere was a mix of anticipation and dread, with a few whispers exchanged among those present.
- The family lawyer, Alessandro Ferrero, stood by a desk with the will laid out before him. He glanced around, noting Isabella’s conspicuous absence. “We cannot proceed until Lorenzo's only daughter, Isabella Moretti arrives,” he said, his voice echoing through the room. He had been the family lawyer for so long that he was known to be the closest their father every had to a friend. They planned things together, the Ferrero family and the Moretti's were classified as relatives than allies.
- Family members began to fidget and murmur as attempts to contact Isabella proved futile. The minutes ticked by, the unease palpable. Rosa remained in her room as part of the family’s strict rules, only members of the family were allowed to witness the reading of the will. This was a serious day in the family and she wouldn't want to be seen loitering or eavesdropping on critical matters, so she stayed back in her room, talking on the phone with her colleagues at the office back in New York.
