Chapter 5 Caller

  • When Aunt Helena left, Randall’s car arrived. I ran to the balcony to see him. He got off the black Ford GT. I soon left the room to greet him. I leaned my head and arm against the door as both hands crossed. The mystery of Aunt Helena’s actions is still dancing in my mind.
  • When Randall saw me, he stroked both my cheeks and kissed my forehead. I feel secure every time he hugs and kisses my forehead. After the wedding, we never kiss the lips again.
  • It appears I’m being unfair on his part because of my condition. Embarrassed, I quickly kissed his lips and turned away. He stiffened there like a stump before I could feel him following me.
  • He grabbed my hand while his dark eyes were still widening.
  • “What’s that for?” he asked promptly.
  • I first lowered my gaze to the white floor before retorting, “I read on the internet that a wife should kiss and greet her partner every time he comes home from work.”
  • He calmly removed the grip on my hand and had his disappointed expression.
  • His mouth closed, and his jaw clenched in annoyance. I looked up at him to meet his eyes. Is he annoyed because I always use the word ‘internet’?
  • “Why?” I asked him confusedly.
  • “I thought. You— NVM,” he didn’t continue what he was speaking and just messed up my hair. I removed his big hand from my long brown hair. He just laughed and put his arm around my shoulder.
  • “Have you eaten?” he asked me as he led me into the kitchen.
  • “Nope.” I grabbed his hand resting around my arms and played with it.
  • “Why?”
  • “Aunt Helena came here, so I didn’t eat right away,” I replied as I pulled his fingers, and they sound.
  • I almost fell when he stopped and hastily turned to me. If he was resting his arms on me, now he squeezes both of them.
  • “Why? What is she doing here?”
  • “She gave me—” I couldn’t continue what I was saying because Aunt Helena told me not to let Randall know, “She just asked me something about how I was feeling and presented me advice. I told her not to worry, and I’m fine.” I showed him a warm smile to prove that Aunt Helena said nothing else to me.
  • Here we are at the table while eating. I asked Randall. “When I had the accident. Where did I come from then?” I sliced the food and act that I was just curious.
  • He stopped slicing and looked at me; he chewed the food slowly as if he was savoring it while still holding the fork and knife.
  • He hems and finally released the food utensils. Not only that, but he folded both hands and placed his elbow on the table.
  • “Even if I want to tell you, I must not. I don’t want you to get hurt because you can lose consciousness to some specific part of that. It can trigger you,” because I’m just beside him. He clasped my hand and fastened it.
  • I took a deep breath before I spoke what has been running through my brain for a few times now. “Why do I feel like I have no partner? Why do I feel you’re all hiding something from me? No one ever tells me how I had a pileup. Why we got married or why no one tells me what’s going on in the company! I just lost my memory, but I’m not paralyzed! I’m not stupid or lost my brain. Likewise, I can explore, analyze and find out them,” sighed as I dropped the cutlery. They sounded as well as the plate, so Estelle and Clara quickly entered.
  • I scowled at Randall before speeding away and climbed to the room.
  • I covered myself with a blanket when I heard the door creak and felt the bed sink. Someone lay down next to me and hugged my body, even though it’s not visible. I didn’t move, I just let him.
  • “I’m sorry.”
  • I didn’t speak because just because I was angry, but because I didn’t know what he was apologizing for. Is it because I walked out, or because they all keeping a secret from me? I noticed they were changing the topic every time I ask.
  • “Give me a little more time. I’ll tell you everything, trust me,” he said with a weak voice as he pressed his head even harder against my body. I removed the blanket covering my face and looked at him. He is like a child who apologizes and caresses his mother with great tenderness.
  • “Promise?”
  • With tired eyes, he replied, “Promise.”
  • I sit down. “Many questions are troubling my mind, but I will wait for you to tell me yourself. When you need to go back to work, and you still don’t tell me everything, I will make a way to find out the cause of the mishap.”
  • “You have my words,” he said seriously and stared at me with sincerity. He examines me for a long time before his eyes dropped to my lips.
  • He crept his face closer to mine and dab me with a kiss.
  • At first, it was just quiet. I could feel his breath and the soft lips. Soon, he opened my mouth with his tongue. My eyes widened, so I strongly pushed him away.
  • I gasp. I chased my breath, but he kissed me again. I closed my eyes tightly. This time, every movement of his lips was intense, as if he would injure mine.
  • “Open your mouth. Hmm?” He commanded, but the last utterance was a moan but sounded to beg. I followed what he wanted. I feel like I’m enchanted because my brain is losing its balance. I feel like I’m in the air.
  • Because of the force of his kisses, his strength went down on me, which cause me I falling on the bed…
  • He heaved my clothes to the chest and felt his hand on my skin. The heat quickly seeped into my body. He started a kiss on my neck and small moans came out.
  • “Mmm. Ah.”
  • Even it’s afternoon and the helpers could hear us, it was as if I had no care. He played my left boob and continued kissing my neck. I’m raising my right leg while the hands were holding his back.
  • We were in that position when I’m snapped out of a loud ring coming out of Randall’s pocket.
  • My lustful spirit woke up, while Randall remained unmoved and remained to tease with my chest. It buzzed again and finally; he stopped.
  • He sits on the bed, annoyingly to see who was calling. I fixed my bra and clothes. I also peeked at the cellphone, but he hastily averted it. Even though he swerved that, I saw the caller.
  • “Helena Williams.”
  • Huh?
  • Randall came out before I could even ask.
  • Helena Williams? Why is she calling Randall? All I know is they have given Randall a one-month leave. My father-in-law is handling the company’s issue. If she needed anything from Randall, she could have told me earlier. I’m confused. Have they been talking for a long time?
  • I stared at the door Randall walked out of and remembered what he had said when he also had a call on the other day.
  • The line he said that day keeps flashing in my head.
  • “Don’t worry, I won’t let her know.” That’s what he said to whom he’s talking.
