Chapter 4 : First Use of Medical Skills

  • The little girl saw Ye Ming approaching and hurriedly said, "Brother, please help me. My father is having a heart attack. If we don't save him soon, he'll be in danger."
  • At this moment, the villagers around noticed that there had been a car accident and came over to see what was happening. That's when they saw the middle-aged man lying on the ground.
  • "What happened to this person?"
  • "It seems like he just collapsed here."
  • "Dr. Li, someone fainted here. Aren't you going to take a look?"
  • Coincidentally, a doctor happened to pass by. He was from the local health center and his name was Dr. Li.
  • The young girl saw a doctor coming and felt as if she had found a lifeline. She quickly pleaded, "Doctor, please save my father. I beg you."
  • Dr. Li approached and took a look. He was surprised and said, "This is a heart attack. It looks like it's getting critical. Here's the deal, give me ten thousand yuan and I'll save him right away."
  • Upon hearing this, the young girl touched her bag and took out her phone. She suddenly remembered that she had dropped it earlier and the screen was shattered. "Doctor, I don't have any cash, and my phone is broken. I can't transfer money to you. Please, save my father first, and I promise I'll give you the money later."
  • Dr. Li sneered and said, "I won't save him if there's no money. If I can't save him in the end, it'll still be my responsibility."
  • The villagers around started discussing.
  • "Dr. Li, it's a matter of life and death. You should save him."
  • "That's right, Dr. Li. Once he's saved, money won't be an issue."
  • ...
  • Dr. Li coldly snorted, "I won't save him if there's no money."
  • Ye Ming frowned. Dr. Li was notorious in town for being a quack. While others could solve a common cold with just a few dozen yuan, he would make it into a severe illness and charge hundreds or even thousands.
  • If it weren't for him being the only doctor in town, no one would willingly go to him for treatment.
  • Ye Ming couldn't bear to watch any longer and said to Dr. Li, "You're a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, right? You must have disposable silver needles in your bag. If you won't save him, I will."
  • Dr. Li laughed and said, "You? Who do you think you are? Why should I lend you my silver needles?"
  • The villagers around started gossiping, and some of them recognized Ye Ming and mocked him.
  • "Ye Ming, I didn't expect you to know medicine."
  • "So you're from the Ye family. Weren't you just married last night? Why are you running around today? If you don't have the ability, don't meddle in medical matters. You'll be responsible if something goes wrong."
  • "Ye Ming, you've caused trouble for your family. Don't go causing more trouble now."
  • Dr. Li sneered, "Two thousand, I'll give it to you."
  • "Okay, two thousand." Ye Ming didn't haggle. After all, it was a matter of life and death. Every second counted, and the longer the middle-aged man lay there, the lower his chances of survival.
  • Dr. Li handed him the silver needles, and Ye Ming squatted down and said to the young girl, "Do you trust me?"
  • The young girl hesitated for a moment and finally nodded. At this critical moment, she had no other choice but to trust him.
  • A glimmer of light appeared in Ye Ming's eyes, and then he fully understood the condition of the middle-aged man's body.
  • "Myocardial infarction, it's already severe," he murmured.
  • Generally speaking, the best time to treat a heart attack is within the first thirty seconds, also known as the golden thirty seconds. Otherwise, the heart will lack oxygen, causing blood to clot and preventing oxygen from reaching the brain, resulting in brain death.
  • Based on the current situation, the middle-aged man had been lying there for at least two minutes, and some parts of his brain were already starting to darken, on the verge of imminent danger.
  • Without hesitation, Ye Ming opened the man's clothes and inserted several silver needles.
  • Dr. Li sneered, "This guy is done for. After a few minutes of a heart attack, no one can survive. It's useless to mess around. Get ready to face a lawsuit."
  • The villagers sighed, even though they didn't understand, they knew how serious a heart attack was. Several people in the village had collapsed like this and never got up again.
  • Just when everyone thought there was no hope, the middle-aged man suddenly coughed violently and slowly opened his eyes.
  • "Wow, he's alive."
  • "Ye Ming is amazing. He actually saved him. I didn't expect his medical skills to be so good."
  • "You know what, now that I think about it, he graduated from medical school."
  • Dr. Li's face turned pale and green. He had just boasted that it was impossible to save the man, but now he was alive.
  • The villagers also started discussing, surprised that Ye Ming was so capable.
  • "Compared to Ye Ming, Dr. Li is nothing."
  • "That's right, if Ye Ming is so good, I'll go to him for treatment in the future."
  • ...
  • Dr. Li saw that everyone was criticizing him and quickly left, not daring to stay any longer. Otherwise, he might end up getting pelted with eggs.
  • The young girl, seeing her father come back to life, burst into tears. She was really scared just now.
  • She looked at Ye Ming gratefully and said, "Brother, thank you so much. I don't know your name. Can I have your contact information? I promise to repay you in the future."
  • Ye Ming shook his head and said, "No need. Your father will be fine soon. Let him drink more water and take him to the hospital for a thorough check-up."
  • The young girl hesitated for a moment and asked, "Then, what's your name?"
  • "I'm Ye Ming." After saying that, Ye Ming walked away, leaving the young girl staring at his back, lost in thought.
  • ...
