Chapter 18 : Treating the Symptoms but Not the Root Cause!

  • "Wang Qian, right? You suffer from impotence and premature ejaculation, and it's very severe. Recently, you've been sweating profusely at night, urinating frequently and intermittently, experiencing persistent leg pain, and feeling restless when sitting or standing," Ye Ming directly stated the symptoms.
  • Wang Qian stood frozen in place, each word hitting him right in the heart.
  • His first reaction was that Zhu Peng had blabbed about it. Annoyed and embarrassed, he turned his head and scolded, "Zhu Peng, I trusted you so much, and you dare to spread rumors about my illness? What kind of doctor are you?"
  • Zhu Peng's face turned pale. "Wang Ge, I... I never said anything. It must be that guy making things up!"
  • Ye Ming smiled faintly. "He indeed didn't tell me. I figured it out myself. You've sought many doctors for your condition, but it hasn't improved. I suspect that when you asked Zhu Peng to prescribe medicine for you recently, there was some temporary relief. However, unfortunately, treating the symptoms but not the root cause will only further deteriorate your health. When this period is over, your condition will worsen, and it will be truly irreversible."
  • Wang Qian's face turned pale. If what the other person said was true, then he was in trouble.
  • He looked at Zhu Peng and asked, "Dr. Zhu, is what he said true?"
  • Zhu Peng hesitated, unsure of how to respond.
  • Seeing his hesitation, Wang Qian already had a rough idea in his mind.
  • "You damn bastard! You used my future happiness to satisfy yourself in the present! I...," he rushed over, grabbed Zhu Peng by the collar, and lifted him up.
  • Zhu Peng panicked and quickly explained, "Wang Ge, your illness... it's really difficult to treat. Instead of a lifetime of suffering, it's better to enjoy one day at a time."
  • Wang Qian became even angrier after hearing this. He slapped Zhu Peng, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
  • "Zhu Peng, I trusted you so much, and this is how you treat me!"
  • Then, he thought of something and looked at Ye Ming, as if finding a lifeline.
  • "Ye Ming... no, Dr. Ye, can you cure my illness? As long as you can, I'll be at your service, ready to do anything!" Wang Qian's arrogance from earlier disappeared, replaced by flattery.
  • He had been plagued by this illness for several years. Every night, he felt powerless, and his wife had left him for someone else. Now, he could only witness others' joy while being unable to do anything himself. The more he thought about it, the more painful it became. He just hoped that his illness could be cured.
  • "Of course, I can cure it," Ye Ming calmly said.
  • Wang Qian felt relieved. "Dr. Ye, can you cure me right now?"
  • Ye Ming furrowed his brows slightly. "We're currently in a restaurant. How can I treat you here? Come to the 'Xiao Ming Clinic' next to Yunyang Hospital tomorrow and wait in line."
  • "Yes, yes, I was too impulsive. I'll definitely come tomorrow." Wang Qian quickly bowed, his attitude completely changed.
  • Gu Xiaonan was a bit surprised. Could it be that Ye Ming really opened a clinic next to the hospital?
  • Wang Qian looked at the trembling Zhu Peng behind him and asked Ye Ming, "Dr. Ye, do you want me to take care of this quack doctor?"
  • "No need. You guys can leave. With so many people watching in the restaurant, don't you think it's already chaotic enough?" Ye Ming said.
  • Wang Qian looked around and indeed saw many people staring. He smiled and said, "Then we won't disturb Dr. Ye and Miss Gu's meal. Let's go!"
  • With that, he led his subordinates and left.
  • Zhang Ling had been standing silently on the side, not saying a word. She was shocked and didn't expect that Ye Ming could see a person's illness at a glance. Otherwise, Wang Qian wouldn't have shown such respect to Ye Ming.
  • She thought of what Ye Ming had said earlier and looked at Zhu Peng with suspicion.
  • "Zhu Peng, explain yourself. Have you been fooling around outside recently?!" Zhang Ling's voice was filled with anger.
  • Zhu Peng was now in great distress. He had initially wanted to appear mighty, but it backfired, and he almost got beaten up. He felt truly embarrassed. Now, even Zhang Ling was starting to doubt him, and he didn't know how to explain.
  • "Xiaoling, I've always been devoted to you. Don't listen to that guy's nonsense. You have to believe me," Zhu Peng said sincerely.
  • "Believe you? What do you have to make me believe you?! Come with me, let's go back. I want to settle this account with you!" Zhang Ling didn't want to stay with Gu Xiaonan and Ye Ming any longer. She felt uncomfortable and no longer asked any more questions. She led Zhu Peng and left, finally bringing some peace to the restaurant.
  • "Let's go too," Gu Xiaonan said.
  • Ye Ming nodded, and the two of them left the restaurant, got into the car, and headed home.
  • "Did you really see through Zhu Peng and Wang Qian just like that?" Gu Xiaonan hesitated for a moment before curiously asking.
  • "Do you think it's fake?" Ye Ming smiled.
  • With his current eyes, he could diagnose any illness with just one glance. There was no need for any further examination.
  • "I don't believe it," Gu Xiaonan still found it unbelievable and thought that he must have used some method to know.
  • "Well, since you don't believe it, there's nothing more to say," Ye Ming shrugged.
  • Gu Xiaonan wanted to ask more questions, but when she thought about Ye Ming being with Su Qi last night, she felt a strange sensation and no longer wanted to ask.
  • She didn't know why she felt this way. It seemed like she had never felt like this before.
  • "Why am I overthinking?" She shook her head and continued driving.
  • Back at home, they spent the night in silence.
  • The next day, following a nine-to-five schedule, Ye Ming went to the clinic. Before he even reached the clinic's entrance, he saw a long line of people waiting.
  • "What's going on here?" he was surprised. There were even more people coming for treatment today compared to yesterday. The line stretched over two hundred meters, which was quite exaggerated.
  • Some unfamiliar faces greeted him as they saw Ye Ming. "Hello, Dr. Ye."
  • "Dr. Ye, you're so handsome, and your medical skills are amazing!"
  • "Dr. Ye, everyone is waiting for you!"
  • ...
  • Ye Ming was dumbfounded. How did so many people recognize him? This shouldn't be happening.
  • He arrived at the clinic, opened the door, and the crowd rushed in.
  • "Don't worry, one by one," Ye Ming called out.
  • As everyone lined up, he began another busy day of consultations.
  • When it was time to see a young girl, he curiously asked, "How did you all find out about this place?"
  • The girl smiled and said, "We saw it on TV. Dr. Ye, you're amazing. You cured diseases that couldn't be treated in the hospital for months. Now, many people in Ninghai City know about you."
  • Ye Ming was taken aback. "On TV?"
  • "Yes, on our Ninghai channel's news. If you turn on the TV now, you can still watch the replay of last night's news," the girl said.
  • Ye Ming took out the remote control and turned on the old TV in the clinic. He tuned it to the Ninghai channel, and indeed, the news was playing...
