Chapter 1 Run Away
- The exquisite living room of the Kingsley mansion illuminated with the glow of the crystal chandelier hanging above. It reflected the low tension running in the atmosphere. The six people gathered in the living room remained extremely silent while Robert Kingsley talked over the phone. His expression was completely dark and scary as he listened to whatever the person was talking on the other side.
- “I don’t care what it takes. Find my daughter at any cost by the end of the day or else it wouldn't end well with any of you.” He etched with rage while shouting threats over the phone.
- It wasn't a sight that ordinary people could ever witness. This side of him was only known to his family and close ones. For the rest of the world, Robert Kingsley was a calm and kind governor general of the country whose main purpose in life was to serve His Majesty, the King, and the people of Kravonia. After finishing his talk over the phone, he cut the call before turning around to glare at his wife, Dahlia Kingsley who couldn't stop weeping. His blue eyes were filled with immense fury, directed towards her.
- “It’s all your fault. How could you be so careless? You should have looked after her.” Robert hissed at her. The tense look on his face suddenly made him look older.
- “I had no idea she would do something like this, or else I wouldn't have let her out of my sight.” Dahlia replied, looking completely devastated. Her beautiful Hazel eyes were completely red and swollen because she had been crying since last night.
- “You should have checked on her. Where was Hyacinth ? She should have been with her." He growled as his jaw tightened while looking for his younger daughter.
- Hyacinth Kingsley , who was quietly standing in the corner of the staircase, shivered slightly when she heard her father mention her name. A sudden feeling of terror rushed inside her, making her bite her trembling lips.
- Last night, her older sister Hazel Kingsley ran away from home just four days before her wedding. Since then, her parents have been going nuts, looking for her throughout the whole country and every possible place she could go. But as always, Hazel turned out to be a lot smarter. She left every single thing, including her phone, behind, making it impossible to trace her.
- Hyacinth couldn't understand why Hazel decided to suddenly disappear from the wedding she had been dreaming and preparing for years like this. Hazel had been engaged to billionaire Ares Savelli, the most eligible bachelor of the country for the past four years. Ares Savelli was every woman’s dream, including Hyacinth ’s too. She had been in love with Ares Savelli before he became her sister’s fiance however he never spared her a single glance. His eyes were always focused on her sister, Hazel .
- “I didn’t know that she w-would run away like this.” Hyacinth shuttered while her unique turquoise eyes flashed with panic when her father’s terrifying eyes landed on her.
- “That's why you should have looked after her. Why couldn't you do one thing properly? Why are you so useless?” He glared at her angrily making Hyacinth cower in fear. Her eyes filled with hot tears when her father put all the blame on her for her sister’s sudden disappearance.
- “It's all her fault. Ask her why she fought with Hazel like that.” Dahlia spoke up, glaring at Hyacinth between her tears. It completely broke Hyacinth ’s heart seeing her mother also blaming her.
- It’s true she had a small argument with Hazel when she accused Hyacinth of being jealous of her and trying to snatch Ares from her. Hyacinth never did such a thing. She might have loved Ares Savelli secretly for years from the first day they met, but she never expressed her feelings. She buried her love and kept her distance from him since the day he got engaged to her sister.
- After four years of being engaged, Ares and Hazel were supposed to get married in four days and merge the two families' billion-dollar businesses. Everything was perfect until Hazel decided to run away, leaving a simple letter as an apology, saying she wasn't ready for the marriage yet. The news came out as really shocking for the entire family.
- Dahlia’s younger sister Elena, sighed as she looked at sister who was crying pitifully while burying her face on her shoulder.
- “Don’t cry, Dahlia, we will find her. You have to calm down first” She tried to console Dahlia first before turning towards Robert.
- “It's not their fault, Robert. None of us expected something like this to happen. Hazel never once showed any sign of unhappiness throughout the engagement or wedding preparation. She always looked happy with this marriage. Who would have thought she would suddenly run away four days before the wedding without saying anything? The letter clearly proves she ran away on her own.” Elena defended her sister and niece at the same time, trying to save them from the wrath of Robert.
- Everyone present in the house was aware of the infamous anger of Robert Kingsley . Hyacinth stared at her father’s burning eyes, which were filled with anger and fear. Fear of humiliation. If there was anything that Robert Kingsley valued above everything, it was his pride.
- "How do you think I'm going to show my face and explain everything to the Savellis?? The wedding preparation is all done, and the invitation has been sent. How could she do this to us? How could she disgrace her own family?” The huge room seemed to shrink in because of Robert’s frustrated outburst.
- The weight of responsibility and societal judgement intensified his fear. His voice was filled with anger and embarrassment. The thought of the humiliation he was going to face when people found out that his elder daughter had run away just days before her wedding brought chills down his spine.
- “Robert, listen. We will figure everything out. But first, we have to inform Ares and the rest of the Savellis about this. We can't hide this from them. They will eventually find out." Felip Garcia, Elena’s husband, suggested while voice carried a sense of urgency. No one would ever want to be on the bad side of the powerful Savelli family. They basically ruled the entire country and had influence at the international level.
- Hearing his words, Robert's frustration surfaced as he clenched his fists. "What do you think will happen after that? I will lose my face in front of them." He argued as he wasn't ready to lose his face or his pride because of his foolish daughter.
- "There's nothing we could do now, Robert. We have to tell them and pray that we find Hazel before the wedding." Elena sighed, trying to put some sense into him. There was no good in wasting time in this crisis. Meanwhile, Hyacinth quietly looked at her family, struggling to clear up the mess her elder sister left behind. Who would have thought their perfect daughter, who always made them proud, would one day bring such a disgrace to them? Robert remained silent.
- "She's right; we have to inform them. The Savellis are going to be more upset if we don't tell them now." Felip reminded Robert, causing him to heave a sigh. At the moment, Hyacinth couldn't help but wonder how the Savellis would react after finding out that their future daughter-in-law had run away. How would Ares Savelli react after knowing his perfect little fiance of four years ran away two days before their wedding?
- Robert looked in a big dilemma as he debated within himself what to do next. After a moment of debate, he finally came to a conclusion.
- "Call Ares."
