Chapter 47 A Mother's Persuasion

  • What Rhea felt as she lay on the bed was nothing but emptiness and loneliness. The bed felt unbearably large with only her occupying it—perhaps because she had grown so used to sleeping beside Dion. Her gaze drifted to the other side, the spot where Dion usually slept. Without realizing it, Rhea reached out and touched the empty space, then her eyes fell on Dion’s pillow. She picked it up, and the lingering scent of him instantly filled her senses, making her eyes brim with tears. She could not deny how deeply she missed Dion, yet the moment she remembered his betrayal, the longing was swiftly overtaken by a burning anger.
  • “Damn it. I have to forget that liar,” Rhea muttered bitterly, forcing herself to stare up at the ceiling as she fought with all her strength to keep her tears from falling.
  • Unable to stay any longer in a room that reminded her so much of Dion, Rhea decided to leave the bedroom. She headed to the kitchen, her stomach beginning to ache with hunger. Come to think of it, she hadn’t eaten anything since catching Dion cheating earlier that afternoon.
