Chapter 30 Relief

  • From the time I laid eyes on him, I knew he was dangerous. Far more dangerous than Jackson King. Vlad Kosher was something else, and way more powerful. Although he was seated at the front of the car and I was behind, I could feel intense energy radiating from his body. I was sure every supernatural being could feel it from miles. This was no ordinary man and I had a feeling he was going to cause trouble. Earlier Jackson had spoken about him very well, but now it looked like he didn’t want to be near the man.
  • Even I didn’t want to be near that man. The way he had looked at me had made me uncomfortable. I wondered if he couldn’t tell there was something between Jackson and I, or he had just chosen to ignore it. Had it been any other man, Jackson would have said something but he was fairly quiet during the ride. The man had an amused smile on his face the whole time, and I knew only evil thoughts were running through his mind. The two friends barely spoke all the way home, each lost in their thoughts. It made me wonder if they were really friends.
  • When the car pulled into the driveway, Angie ran through one of the French doors of the formal living room. She fell in front of the car as we got out.
