- The darkness inside my skull was a living, ravenous beast with teeth made of glass.
- Without the mate-bond, there was no light. No tether. No sweet, wild scent of vanilla and rain to anchor the screaming storm of my inner wolf. The silver-blocker had dissolved the rational wall between my human mind and the bloodthirsty monster beneath my skin.
