- It was raw. It was inflamed, jagged, and bleeding, a brutal, rushed bite mark that looked like it had been branded onto her flesh by force less than twenty-four hours ago. The skin around the puncture marks was deep crimson, humming with the chaotic, unintegrated energy of a bond forced upon an unwilling soul.
