Chapter 5 Broken And Cast Out

  • Raya's POV
  • My eyelids popped open as my senses were awakened by the damp of water flowing down my body.
  • I jolted up to a man's stern face staring down at me with a bucket in his hands.
  • “What the hell are you doing here, Raya? Are you planning on getting me in trouble? The Alpha has commanded that you don't come anywhere close to the Pack.” The man snorted, and I sat up as I struggled to stand.
  • “Father!” I exclaimed in shock. I had thought he would no longer be angry and would pardon me. But it seems his anger lingered a little bit more.
  • “She still doesn't get it. She thinks she's still some princess. But she's nothing, but a worthless bitch who tried to seduce Alpha Daruis with the hope of being his mate.” I heard a woman say and my heart sank deep within me.
  • The rumour seems to have spread wider than I thought. I clenched my fist into a tight ball as anger washed through me.
  • “I have done nothing wrong.” I said with the last strength within me.
  • The resounding sound of laughter brought my attention to my surroundings. There were men and women hovering over me with a mocking and wicked grin plastered all over their faces.
  • They could not even stare at me in the face just two days ago. But now I have turned into an object of ridicule and shame.
  • I felt utterly hopeless and alone. Hungry, tired, and worn out. Tears trickled down my eyes, my eyes stinging in pain.
  • “Where is she?” I heard familiar voices, and my eyes flickered with hope.
  • There was my father's personal guard and I stood up in excitement. My father must have finally realised the truth and sent his men to look for me.
  • “Take her!” One of them said, and two other men grabbed me with force and pulled me away.
  • “What are you doing?” I asked them as they pulled me violently, but none of them answered me.
  • “Let me go! Did Father ask you to do this?” I yelled at them, but my words had no effect on them.
  • I finally surrendered and stopped struggling as they pulled me along like an animal being taken for slaughter.
  • “What a shameless bitch!”
  • “I can't believe I bowed down to her at some point!”
  • “I heard she tried to seduce Alpha Darius!”
  • “So it's true!
  • “That was the reason why he rejected her like that and chose Lilian.”
  • “He made the best choice, I would have done the same.”
  • Different demeaning words were thrown at me as the guards pulled me along.
  • My eyes widened with shock the minute we arrived at the Pack square.
  • The noise from the crowd quieted down as they all turned to look at me. The guards cleared the road as we passed through the people eager to tear me in pieces.
  • The guards holding me pushed me with so much force, and I fell on the floor, bruising my knees. I looked up, and my father was on his Alpha chair staring down at me like a hunter eager to kill its prey.
  • “Father, please!” my hoarse voice murmured under my breath. I turned to look at his side, and Gareth was right there. Karen was also seated by her father's side.
  • She had a look of triumph on her face, and I wondered if she was ever my friend.
  • “Please Father!” I begged as salty tears filled my mouth. I brought my palm together and bowed my head before him. Everything within me cried for mercy. There's no way I can live through another day being treated like this.
  • How did my life go from being perfect to being miserable in a matter of days?
  • “I can't believe I raised you to be a failure. I can not tolerate such failure. Therefore, as of today, you have ceased to be my daughter.” My father announced, and everyone cheered.
  • I shook my head as I listened to my father pass such a harsh judgement on me.
  • “No father, you can't do this to me. I have done nothing wrong. Why are you all doing this to me?” I cried out.
  • “The moon goddess is responsible for choosing our mates. I didn't have anything to do with that. Alpha Daruis rejected me, because he didn't think I was fit for him,” I continued.
  • “Not because there's anything wrong with me. Father, now is the time I need you the most after being rejected cruelly in such a manner.” I concluded and stood up to touch my father's leg.
  • “Didn't you hear me? You are no longer my child. So refrain from calling me your father.” My father yelled at me and kicked me away with his leg causing my nose to bleed.
  • Everyone gasped the minute I stood up with blood all over my face. I slumped on the floor in dizziness as I struggled to keep my eyes open.
  • “You think I didn't hear of how you have been messing around with different men? Karen told me everything. And how you also tried to seduce the Alpha. You are not worthy of being my daughter or being a member of this Pack.” My father yelled.
  • “No father, that's not true. Gareth, tell father the truth, please! Karen, you know that's not true. Father, please hear me out.” I cried uncontrollably.
  • “You have been stripped of all your titles as my daughter and a member of this pack. You will now leave as a rogue and exiled into the woods. Be grateful I'm still sparing your life.” He passed his final judgement and stood up.
  • I sat there on the floor as I watched the world crumble beneath me. I took a look around, and not even one person defended me.
  • Everyone in this entire world has turned their backs on me, leaving me crushed and alone.
  • I gathered the last modicum of strength within me and stood up with my fist clenched together, and my lips trembling.
  • I walked away silently as the crowd pushed and tossed me around.
  • I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
  • “You will all regret underestimating me.” I vowed as I gritted in between my teeth.
