- The final leg of the journey north was a brutal ascent into a world increasingly divorced from the human domain. We moved with relentless speed, driven by the critical intelligence Darius had provided and the urgency of preventing the trade of the Source. Darius himself, though physically absent, maintained his commitment, using the old Alpha communication channels to provide real-time updates on the presumed movements of Varyn’s pursuit forces. His actions, born of clear-eyed necessity rather than possessive guilt, were the shield that allowed us to continue.
