Chapter 66 Sixty-six

  • Over the next few days, I help the refugees from Silver Moon Pack settle into Anton's territory. I make sure they have everything they need—clean clothes, warm meals, safe places to sleep. Most of them are women and children, and they're still shaken from what they faced. Some of them wake up screaming in the middle of the night. Others won't let their kids out of their sight for even a moment.
  • I do what I can. Listen when they need to talk. Sit with them when they need silence. Hold their hands when the memories become too much.
  • Today, Anton and I are traveling to the Silver Moon Pack's territory in his private jet. He wants to search for any additional survivors who might still be hiding in the ruins. We're taking the jet so we can transport anyone we find back quickly—the pack's land is far from Anton's territory, hours and hours by car. I can't imagine how long those women and children walked to reach us. It must have been an exhausting, terrifying journey.
