• The moon began its slow descent toward the horizon, and I felt the pull of the shift starting to fade. My wolf form had felt so natural, so right, but now my human consciousness was reasserting itself. The change back always left me feeling slightly disoriented, like waking from a vivid dream.
• Darragh shifted beside me, his magnificent black wolf form melting away to reveal the man I loved. He stretched, running a hand through his tousled dark hair, and looked toward where we'd left our clothes scattered by the garden.
