Chapter 149
- SERAPHINA’S POV
- I sat in Professor Hawthorne’s History of Magical Societies class, trying to focus on her lecture about ancient ward structures after the tongue-in-cheek mention about being in the school’s sorority. For once, my day had been almost normal. My roommates hadn't stolen anything from my belongings this morning. No one had whispered "witch whore" when I walked past. The cruel rumors that had followed me for days seemed to have finally died down.
- I knew I had Ciara to thank for that. Whatever she'd said in class the other day had actually worked. People were leaving me alone, treating me like a regular student instead of some cursed pariah. Not that I was going to thank her for it. The last thing I needed was the golden girl thinking she was my salvation.
