Chapter 28 No Respect

• Chase exhaled in relief. He returned to his seat, keeping his eyes on Damon. A smile spread across his face. “And what else have you heard about my mate?”
• Damon shrugged, portraying the image of an innocent, clueless man. “That the alpha still longs for his dead wife.”
• Chase nodded his head, smiling ear to ear as if pleased by the words reaching him. He wasn’t. However, this only shows that his affairs were never a private thing. More than half of these alphas seated in his courtroom engaging in this meeting were more than aware of his life. They either operated by listening to gossips or they had eyes and ears planted in the Rakmoon pack to keep an eye on him, waiting for the day he wanted to declare war on the world.
