Chapter 6 Peggy, Do You Admit it?

  • He looked over his shoulder, called, and exclaimed, "Hey girl, come on, look over there!”
  • Robert had always been pompous. With this yell, practically everyone's attention was drawn, and everyone followed Robert's gaze, all of which focused on Peggy.
  • Peggy's eyes were slightly shocked, and she tried to remain cool in the presence of everyone.
  • She glanced at Robert's position; the man had a lighthearted smile on his face, was clothed in upscale brands, and the watch alone cost millions of dollars.
  • The manager often brought up in meetings the need to treat these kinds of customers with respect and without any hostility!
  • Peggy straightened her back, approached with the wine tray, took a deep breath, and smiled politely: "Hello, sir. Today, Red Shift recommends this bottle of Granfidi. It is ideal for you and your friends to drink freely. If you're interested, you can have a drink beforehand."
  • Before Peggy could complete her statement, Robert beckoned, "Chick. Ah, sorry, I was mistaken. I'm bored of the same old wine introductions. Is there another way?"
  • "Other...ways?" Peggy frowned slightly.
  • “I don't want to make things difficult for you, though. My brother is actually more interested in you and your wine than anything else, but he is apathetic. On weekdays, it's difficult to watch him laugh. We will all pack your list tonight if you can get him to buy this wine. How about that?”
  • "Everything...everything inclusive?"
  • Peggy's gaze narrowed a little, and she immediately estimated the salary—nearly 10,000 dollars—after the all-inclusive package had been sold.
  • She seemed ready as she nodded. But when the man standing next to Robert lifted his head out of the shadows to gaze at her, Peggy's expression stagnated, and her breathing seemed to be choked, almost suffocated.
  • How was that possibly him?
  • How on earth was that possible?
  • Furthermore, William's expression toward her was cynical and cruel.
  • Peggy bowed her head at once, her fingertips turning white and her eyes teary, as if everything Joan had said about her had come true.
  • "Hold up your head." William's tone was cold, with a command that could not be ignored.
  • Robert was taken aback a little too. He gave William a look.
  • Why did his brother seem to be harboring resentment toward the girl?
  • And his tone was as icy as ice. He surreptitiously pinched William's arm.
  • "William, there's no need to treat her that way; she just sells alcohol. Let's not be so serious; don't treat her with your usual work attitude,” said Robert.
  • William sneered cruelly at Robert and said, "I know her."
  • Did you know her?
  • "Do you know the girl?Why don't I know?”
  • "Gentleman, allow me to reintroduce this bottle of wine," Peggy remarked as she settled down on the side and turned to face William.
  • “William, are you here too?”
  • At this moment, Joan's gentle voice came from behind.
  • Joan approached William slowly, sat beside him naturally, and gently put her arm around him. In the dim light, the tail ring in her hand was particularly obvious.
  • When Robert was still wondering where this woman had come from, he sat up upright, surprised at the tail ring she was holding, saying, "Damn, did I read it right? William, isn't she wearing the Soto family heirloom on her hand? Is she the girl Madame Barbara introduced to you?"
  • Joan was shy and timid and said softly, "Hello, I am William's fiancée, Joan. Just call me Joan. This ring on the tail... That night, William put it on for me. It is something I will always treasure."
  • "What did you say?" Robert blinked, moved in closer to William, and exhaled a sigh of relief since the amount of information was too fascinating.
  • However, he thought that the Joan in front of him was identical to the young lady selling wine.
  • "You two......"
  • Joan rebuked Peggy right away, putting on a helpless look and saying, "Why don't you listen to what Dad said? To get you to go home, I still had to come to the bar every night.”
  • The three of them fixed their gaze on her, and Peggy froze in place with no space to move.
  • William did not respond, but Robert went on: "What do you mean? I think this young girl is cute; she does not look like a disobedient bad girl. the Cruz family must be wealthy as well, because you are William's fiancée. Is it possible to treat your sister poorly while being kind to you?”
  • The words seemed to pierce Joan almost completely, and for a moment, her face went pale.
  • She turned her head and clenched William's arm in a daze: "No, she is adopted by the Cruz family. William gave me symbols of devotion that my sister almost took. William witnessed it at home during the day. My father didn't realize the amount of mess he had cleared for her, but she didn't seem to care and kept acting in this manner."
  • Joan said menacingly, "Peggy, do you admit it?"
