Chapter 1 Your Pregnancy can Save your Mom

  • “Peggy, you’re ovulating today. You know what to do with the man in there.”
  • “Your mother will be saved if you’re pregnant with my child.”
  • Peggy Cruz shivered and bit her lips, thinking about her dying mother. “Okay, I’ll do it.”
  • She was shoved into the suite. The dark room reeked of alcohol. The next moment, she gasped as the man pulled her in and pressed her against the bed. She could feel his hot breath all over her face. He glanced at her and said, “You’re here, Joan. Relax, I’ll marry you…”
  • He caresed her face gently, and he kissed her passionately. The medicine in his body had taken effect. He was at his limit. He leaned in closer to her, seeing how innocent she was. He lost control.
  • The sharp pain caused her to tear up. She clenched her fists, forcing herself to withstand it. He was going wild as he kept on whispering to her ear, “Joan... Joan...”
  • However, she was no Joan Cruz. She was merely the substitution of Joan because Joan was infertile! And the Soto family matriarch would only accept her if she got pregnant.
  • Soto's family adopted her, and because of her mother's illness, she was unable to reject them!
  • For three days, she was locked up in a dim house. He hugged her, bathed with her, and fed her personally. At the same time, he was excitedly and aggressively asking for her, never pausing.
  • He treated her like a precious doll; he whispered in her ear and said over and over again, “It's terrible. I’m growing to love you more. I want to marry you earlier.”
  • He removed the family patriarch's tail ring, which he had been wearing all the time, and put it on her middle finger.
  • Peggy's heart pounded so hard, and she couldn't help but put her arms around his neck. It was the first time someone had told her she was loved.
  • She picked up the clothes from the floor after daybreak, put them on, and turned to face the handsome man who had slept soundly.
  • She quickly left the room without daring to take another glance.
  • At the Cruz family household
  • Joan muttered, "Come here," with disgust as she fixed her gaze on Peggy.
  • Peggy gave up trying to resist and approached Joan step by step.
  • "Take her off!"
  • Peggy covered herself right away. However, the servant approached Peggy and removed her clothes.
  • “Don't...” Her tattered body was exposed to the air due to the ripped clothing. Joan was envious.
  • Because of her previous abortion, she was unable to become pregnant. If that wasn't the case, she wouldn't let Peggy sleep with William, the ruler of the Soto family.
  • She walked over and slapped Peggy fiercely.
  • "B*tch! You were much like your mother, who enjoyed seducing men.”
  • This little b*tch resembles her by 80%! It's obvious that his father took the illegitimate girl into the family's care on purpose!
  • Peggy's face was hurt and painful; her whole body trembled, and her self-esteem was crushed. She had become used to it, though her eyes were still red. Abuse and punishment were commonplace after more than a decade of living with the Cruz family.
  • Her mother's condition was everything that mattered to her!
  • "Miss Joan, you promised me that as long as I do it for you, you will ask a foreign doctor to treat my mother," Peggy said, fixing her gaze on Joan.
  • Joan grinned coldly, leaned in close to her, and added, "I promised you that I would treat your mother if you became pregnant."
  • "So you'd better hope and pray that you become pregnant for me right away!"
  • "Lock her in the backyard for me," she stated icily.
  • "Don't let this b*tch ruin all of my hard work; Soto's family will come to propose later."
  • She must never be allowed to appear before William again!
  • As soon as the nobleman stepped out of the Stretch Lincoln Limousine and arrived at Cruz's family's residence, they instantly greeted him.
  • "Mr. Soto, you've arrived!"
  • William's eyes landed on the attractively attired female with a charming smile. His reaction was one of mild surprise mixed with suspicion. Was that her last night?
  • "This morning..."
  • "I apologize; I was so tired this morning and I was embarrassed to face you, so I left first," hurriedly answered Joan.
  • William acknowledged this with a nod and calmly replied, “You must be tired."
  • Grandma drugged him because she urged him to have his own child. She then called Joan. Although he had no interest in this business marriage, this girl had become his addiction during the last three days.
  • But Joan's expression solidified, and intense jealousy sprang in her eyes. She's staring at a man who's more attractive than the one in the magazine!
  • In addition, he was the guy at the top of the entire Pontenero, the head of Soto's family!
  • She carefully clasped her palms, feigned to be shy, smiled, came forward, took his arm, and softly murmured, "I am willing."
  • Abel and Morgan glanced excitedly at the boxes of dowry gifts brought in by Cruz's family!
  • Cruz's family was the most prosperous among the elite!
  • What tremendous wealth Joan would have when she married and became the young lady of Cruz's family!
  • William was welcomed to the home with a smile by the family.
  • In the backyard.
  • Peggy received a call from the hospital.
  • "Ms. Cruz, your mother is critically ill! Surgery is urgently needed, and family members must sign the papers!"
  • "I'll be right there!" Peggy rose up abruptly and left.
  • The servant halted her abruptly.
  • "I'm going to the hospital; let me go!"
