• Two weeks passed by in the palace uneventfully. Although I was still a slave in name, I no longer did anything in the palace. Nicholas made sure I did not do any chores at all.
• A few slaves tried to complain about it once because they were jealous but Nicholas immediately shut them down.
• They clearly had a lot to say about the fact that I was not doing anything but because they were afraid of Nicholas, they did not dare to say anything.
