Chapter 140
- I stirred from what probably was a sleep of eternity. My limbs resisted for a while having been in a position for weeks. I sat up scrambling my thoughts. I was in my room, I recalled trying to get to Aubrey before a bout of drowsiness hit me and it had been so intense I couldn't fight it. But I faintly remember seeing Tyler's face before my eyes shut on their own accord.
- Aubrey! I wanted to see her. When I stood up, I staggered from not using my limbs for days. I had to pause for a few seconds to get accustomed to the wobbling of my legs before I stormed out of the room and headed to the cell. I had a lot to say, I needed to apologize. I had left her there knowing her condition and succumbed to the pleasures of sleep.
- I covered the distance in sharp strides but to my surprise and fear, her cell was empty, in her place was a teary eyed girl who looked at ke fearfully. I rushed to the guard who had bowed to me at the entrance.
