Chapter 72

• The next few days were spent in a blur. Everyone else was getting ready for the war and I was doing nothing. I just sat and watched everything that was going on around me. I was going to go with them and yet I was not prepared.
• I tried to talk to Nicholas and asked him to let me get prepared with everyone else. At last, I will be able to protect myself in case something happens to me but he told me no. He said that I did not need to protect myself and that there would be someone around to protect me all the time.
• He also said that he didn't need a woman to help me in the war. He would take care of it all by himself. I just gave up when I realized that my words were not going to make a difference on him at all.
