Chapter 5

  • I feel like I just ruined my life by tying the knot with this Attorney. Did he really believe that I would go with him to his house? Never. If I can, I will escape right now.
  • I looked at the cafe's main door simply and wanted to run away immediately. I had already taken one step, but then, I was halted when someone grabbed my wrist.
  • "Where do you think you're going, Savvy?"
  • He managed to pull me closer to him and encircled his strong arm around my waist.
  • "What else do you want?! I want to go home! The wedding was done! "
  • "Not yet, Savvy. What else is the purpose of your red lips if we don't take pictures? As I told you, this will only happen once in my life, and I want remembrance."
  • I laughed sarcastically as I looked at him. He gazes at me as if he really does love me.
  • "Then you should have tried to be an actor. You're so good at acting." I simpered and tiptoed a little just so I could be closer to him while he, on the other hand, was busy gawking at my red lips.
  • "Okay, good shot! One more! Kiss, please!"
  • My eyes automatically widened after hearing Attorney Santiago and with the flash of the camera again. I wanted to stop him from taking photos, but then Delton abruptly pulled my nape and stole another kiss.
  • And damn those invisible butterflies. They were spread throughout my system, using all of my energy.
  • "Nice shot! It looks romantic," Attorney Santiago commented.
  • That is when Delton freed me. I was still in shock and trying to breathe normally as well as trying to gain back my energy.
  • "Sweet, Savvy. I'll frame these," he murmured.
  • I forcefully wiped my lips and rolled my eyes at him when he showed me the pictures. I would be more happy if he burned them all.
  • I shook my head and just reminded myself of my real plan. I did even take another step, but was frozen on my feet when he pulled my wrist again.
  • Stupid, Sage! Why did I forget that he was holding my wrist?!
  • "What do you need?!" I asked angrily.
  • "Shouldn't I be the one asking you that, Savvy? Where else are you going again?" He squinted his eyes and arched his brow a little.
  • "Huh, I-i will go to the restroom. Am I not allowed to go to the restroom?" I raised my eyebrows to hide the nervousness that I was feeling.
  • I hope there is an exit to the restroom, so that I can leave the place peacefully and hail a cab outside.
  • And I almost clapped my hands when he nodded. He asked the female staff member where the restroom was.
  • "This way, Sir." The woman pointed to the kitchen. "Then turn left," she added.
  • I nodded at her, even though I was not the one she was talking to. Delton released my wrist and that made me smile wider while going into the restroom. I had no idea that it would be that easy. I should've thought of this much earlier.
  • I looked for an exit before entering the restroom, and I smirked after I saw one. Right after I escape, I will buy clothes at the thrift stores. Cheap clothes would be fine until I can find a sustainable job.
  • With that thought, I entered the restroom and just washed my hands. I wiped out the red lipstick on my lips and applied a pink one. I even carefully put back the liptint on my bag. I combed my hair quickly and smiled at the mirror.
  • When I was satisfied, I happily went out of the restroom, but then, my smile automatically faded when I saw Delton leaning on the side of the door. He was seriously leaning there, and it was so unlucky enough that he was just on the right side of the exit.
  • "Are you done? Can we go now?" he asked innocently, but his eyes were staring at my pink lipstick.
  • "Have you changed your lipstick?"
  • I didn't mind his question. I was so disappointed that I wasn't able to execute my plan. All my plans disappeared, and even my happiness. I fisted my hand and just wanted to shout and make a mess! If I just knew he would follow me abruptly, then I shouldn't have entered the restroom and just gone out on the exit right away!
  • "Breathe, Savvy. You're not breathing," he said, his voice was full of worries.
  • I was back to my senses because of that. I took a deep breath and walked back to the main café. I lost the chance again.
  • "Where else are we going? I want to go home now," I weakly uttered.
  • I had already lost my appetite and just wanted to paint the inside of my room. This is such an unlucky day! I was there already, and had the chance to escape this life, yet I wasn't able to do so! And that is because of him.
  • "We'll be having our reception."
  • Reception? He's really taking this seriously?
  • "Tss. That's too much. I only agreed to sign the marriage contract and not to give you my whole time!"
  • He's too much! He does really want to tie me in this loveless marriage!
  • "And so? If you don't take this seriously, well, I do. Don't ruin my wedding day, Mrs. Carancho." His voice was serious as his eyes looked at me intently.
  • I quickly shut my mouth as my conscience attacked me. I wasn't able to make a protest when he guided me inside of his black car.
