Chapter 8

  • I kept my mouth shut as I felt I was being unfair to him. Why did he even ask for marriage? What if I tell him I like Andres, will he let me go?
  • I pouted a little again after remembering Andres. I wasn't able to bid my goodbye. I felt dismayed because of that and just looked out the window during the ride. Maybe because I have had a sleepless night and now I am sleepy. I felt the car stop and how my seat being reclined made me comfortable and let myself sleep.
  • And when I woke up, the car wasn't on the road anymore. My vision was still blurry, but when I checked the driver's seat, Delton wasn't there anymore, and the car door was already open. I shrugged my shoulders and just got out of the car. I yawned and planned to scold him again, but my lips parted at the majestic house in front of me. It was a two-story house, but it looked so magnificent. Its details were painted in white, grey, and a little brown for each of the right places that made me gasp. I am not aware that these colors will look good together.
  • It looks kind of simple, but still classy. The door was also in the modern style, and the house itself has some glass details.
  • "Let's go. You must be hungry," he said, from my back.
  • I saw him put down his phone and hide it in his jeans pocket.
  • "I'm not hungry," I replied coldly, but I still followed him inside his house.
  • I was also impressed by his simple L-shaped sofa set and indoor plants.
  • Where are my things, by the way? You left them in the car? "
  • He stopped climbing the glass stairs and looked at me from behind.
  • "Already upstairs. Don't worry about it. You can go to the kitchen. I think the food is ready. Don't starve yourself, Savvy."
  • That was what he said before he continued going upstairs. I rolled my eyes and just searched for his kitchen. And when I found it, I saw a grey sink and a fridge on the side. But my eyes automatically widened after I saw a woman who was busy cooking.
  • "Wait this one out a little more, Delton. This is almost done. I know you're hungry already— who the hell are you? " The woman asked shockedly when she faced me.
  • I saw how she looked at me in a scrutinizing way and even examined me from head to toes. I didn't move a bit and just looked at her the same way.
  • In my mind, that man already had a girlfriend, and yet he asked me for marriage! And he knows that the woman is here, and yet he brought me here!
  • I examined the woman again—I mean lady. She looks younger than I am, but her body is very curvaceous and every man will drool at her. Even her br**sts are full and it's making me insecure, especially with the small cleavage she's showing.
  • "Miss, aren't you trespassing? I guess you entered the wrong house." The lady arched her brow before she turned off the stove.
  • I bit my lip and I think the anger within me was awakened. For Delton, not for the lady. Did he plan on living with two women?
  • I let out an exasperated breath and just left the kitchen. I headed down the stairs and went upstairs, where I am sure Delton is. But when I reached the second floor, I saw four doors, and I didn't have any idea which door I should open. However, I immediately stood up straight when one of the doors opened and Delton came out.
  • "You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend. And then what? You also want me to live here? What is it, then, Delton? A playhouse?" I can't help but ask that.
  • He rumpled his brows but still calmly closed the door at his back. Even his steps were very calm, and yet that made me nervous.
  • It is just right that I got mad, right? If he wants me to live here, then there shouldn't be any other girls here. What is that? We'll have a schedule every night? Na-huh.
  • The thought almost caused me to shiver. It seemed as though I would spend the night next to him! No way, not at all!
  • "You might have forgotten, Mrs. Carancho, that I am a married man, and I don't have a girlfriend."
  • He walked closer, making me hold the railings. I gulped, but I'm not going to be weak. I flashed my smirk and walked one step closer to him.
  • "Then who is the woman in the kitchen? Your maid? Your maid is so sexy then. What are you two? Maid with benefits—"
  • I stopped and widened my eyes when he crouched and left a very small space between our lips.
  • "M-ove a-way, Delton."
  • "Please don't show me your jealousy, wife."
  • I tried to push his chest away, but he was able to wrap his arm around my waist and pull me much closer to him.
  • "I am completely turned on," he whispered huskily, and that made me feel the goose bumps on my skin.
  • "Huh? I just want to say clearly that you have a girlfriend, and she should be the one you marry—"
  • "She's not my girlfriend. She's my secretary, Savvy. Next time, do not jump into conclusions, or else we will directly jump to bed." He wore his smirk as he let go of my waist.
  • My blood started to boil, and I also felt like I had aged a year. That sinful smirk he had at the time is something I want to wipe away.
  • "Secretary huh? Bed huh? Or maybe you have a secretary with benefits? That would be fine for me. Just let me go home and stay with Andres. Then that would be much better—"
  • "Do you really think I will allow you to run back home?" He cocked his head and squinted his eyes, "Never, Savvy. I have only married one woman, and that is you, Mrs. Carancho. So don't you dare throw me to someone else." His stare became heavy, and that made his eyes darker.
  • "Anyway, stop with this sentiment. Anyway, stop with this sentiment. And yeah, fix your things in the master bedroom. Take a bath, change, then we'll eat together downstairs." He moved away and headed up the stairs.
  • "We'll sleep in the master's bedroom, Savvy," he announced, making my eyes widen in shock.
