Chapter 7

  • "Bye, don't be safe," I sarcastically uttered before I opened his car door.
  • "Bye—"
  • I shut the car door without waiting for him to finish what he was saying. I apologize if I'm being disrespectful, but I do feel awful right now. He has broken a lot of rules, but then what? Now he wants me to stay at his house. He might be residing in a slum.
  • Slum but he has a luxurious car? Na-huh.
  • I took a step without looking back at him and just waved my hand. But then, I couldn't help but shout when he suddenly beeped his car. My brows furrowed as I looked back at his car. He slipped his head through his car window and stared at me.
  • "What?! Will you please go home!"
  • Instead of getting irritated or annoyed, he flashed his smirk at me.
  • "I'll go home after you enter your room." He glanced at my room, where the lights were still off.
  • I laughed lowly and crossed my arms in front of my chest, "As if you would know." How will you be able to know if I am already at my room if you are here inside your car?"
  • "Then I'll go with you-"
  • "No freaking way!" I ran towards his car and stopped his car door from opening.
  • I leaned on his car door and sharply looked at him. I found him looking at me cutely with his cunning smile. And my eyes widened when his big hand pulled my head softly as his sultry lips kissed my forehead dearly.
  • I was even still in shock when he moved away, but he didn't completely let me go. His lips moved towards my ear.
  • "Good night, wife. "Sleep tight," he whispered before he let me go and closed the car's window. I had
  • absentmindedly moved away when he started the engine, and his car was already gone when I realized what had just happened.
  • "How dare you, Delton! That's not part of the agreement!" I shouted even though his car was too far and could not be seen visibly.
  • I almost cried as I entered the mansion. I also didn't stop wiping my forehead, as I remember his lips there. This just fueled my desire to escape. I will escape first, then I'll work on the annulment right after I earn money.
  • With that in mind, I prepared my luggage and bags. Just a few clothes so that I can carry them quickly. I even smirk when I set an alarm. My plan is that, before the sunrise, I will sneak out and will not let him take me to his house.
  • But when I lay on the bed and closed my eyes, the scenarios of today vividly flashed on my mind, especially Delton's kisses.
  • I automatically opened my eyes and slapped myself because of that.
  • "Sleep, Sage! Do not think of sins!" I scolded myself.
  • But then, Delton's lips don't want to leave my mind. I can still clearly imagine and feel them against my lips and on my forehead.
  • "Shit, Sage! You will only let Andres kiss you and not that attorney! "
  • I buried my face on the pillow and forced myself to sleep, even though his kisses kept on flashing inside my head, as if they were part of a movie. I have no idea at what time I slept. All I know is that when I woke up, my eyes felt heavy and I couldn't open them completely. If I just didn't remember my plan of escape, I wouldn't sit.
  • But I felt betrayed when I saw the sun was already up. It was shining beautifully and even entered my window panes. I irritatedly glanced at the alarm clock since it didn't ring on the alarm that I set.
  • Now I am not sure if I can still escape with this very morning, but if Delton is not yet around, then I can still run. But my shoulders slumped when I saw the space where I put my things last night, and it was empty now.
  • I immediately got off the bed and walked starightly outside, not minding my messy look. However, I stopped on my track when I saw Delton fixing my luggage in his car compartment.
  • "Wait, I am not yet ready. Uhm, and those aren't my things." I stopped him from closing the compartment.
  • "I already checked them and added a little more of your dresses. And yeah, take a bath and I'll wait for you here, Savvy."
  • I took a step backward when he got near me and moved my hair away from my forehead without any permission to do so. He crouched a little, and his light stares were what I saw.
  • "You still look cute tho," he said it absentmindedly as he leaned in closer, as if claiming my lips, and that made me wake up fully.
  • "Stop! I won't let you kiss me! And one more thing: go home alone. This is my home and I am not going to come with you!"
  • His brow moved a little before he stood straightly. And when he looked down at me, I saw how he tried to hide his ghost of a smile.
  • "Who says I want to kiss you? I just wanted to greet you a good morning and remind you that we are now married. And that only means you'll live where I am."
  • He looked at his wristwatch before he glanced at me.
  • "Anyway, you don't have to change or take a bath. Let's go now and just take a shower when we get home," he added.
  • I laughed lowly, "I am not going-"
  • "Sage! Why are you making your husband wait?! My gosh, Sage! Be responsible, you are married now!" It was Mommy, who was still in her robe but with mascara on her lashes.
  • "But, Mom—"
  • "No buts, Sage! You are not a child anymore! You can even have your own child!"
  • She walked closer, and she even opened the car door and pushed me inside carefully.
  • "Mom!"
  • I was about to protest, but then, she had already closed the door while the door from the driver's seat opened and Delton entered.
  • I pouted and looked at him sharply. He started the engine and drove the car. He even acted like he was looking at the road seriously, not minding my stares, and yet I could also see in his eyes that he wanted to smirk.
  • "Happy now?" I rolled my eyes and fixed my seatbelt.
  • "Of course, who wouldn't be happy if their wife was just right beside them? Savvy, I told you, I want this marriage."
  • I knotted my forehead at what he said. Yes, I accepted the marriage but not the wifely duties!
