- "Huh?" she exclaimed, her mind drifting off to something else. What did he mean by “sleep together”? She wouldn’t deny that her thoughts had wandered elsewhere. Alexander couldn’t help but chuckle at her flushed cheeks; she had clearly misinterpreted what he meant.
- “It’s not what you think,” he said, pressing his lips together to stifle a laugh. “I meant we should share a bed. When did your mind get so dirty?” He watched as she blinked rapidly, silently scolding herself for indulging in such bizarre thoughts.
- “Who says my mind is dirty? Do you really think I can’t sleep next to you? We did it all the time back then, so why would I think anything inappropriate now?” She scoffed, moving to the other side of the bed and lying down with her back to him. She bit her lip hard, squeezing her eyes shut, knowing he had a point.
