Chapter 57 She Is Nobody

• "Hello," the voice on the other side is barely audible. Mary can't believe that Ragnar answered her call. "I haven't heard from you in a long time, Ragnar. How are you?"
• "Busy," he replies, gruffly and annoyed. He takes another sip of whiskey as he fills the bathtub with cold water.
• "I was wondering if I could come to keep you company tonight," she says, trying her luck. She knows that Ragnar always locks himself up in his apartment during these dates to avoid contact with other werewolves, but she wants more than anything for him to allow her to be by his side like he did before. "I can make a light dinner for both of us, we can open a bottle of wine, talk, if you don't have any plans, of course."
