Chapter 47 I Accept Your Offer

• Eric froze, stunned by the words that had just come out of Alexa's mouth. His expression tightened, disbelief washing over his face. He hadn’t expected Alexa to say something like that.
• Alexa, too, sat tensely in her seat. Her fingers interlocked, squeezing gently to channel her nervousness. Her face turned pale, and cold sweat began to bead on her temples.
• She cursed herself for making such a rash decision without thinking it through. What if Eric agreed? Would she truly be willing to follow through on the promise she had made so recklessly?
