• Selene's POV
• Before Raymond could walk in and reach where I was standing, I bolted toward the kitchen, my heart hammering so hard I thought it might burst out of my chest or jump through my mouth.
• I pressed my back against the kitchen wall. My breath came out in harsh pants. Oh my gosh, what would I say? What excuse could I possibly give? Could I lie that I came for an assignment or a project with him? Gosh, was that even believable? Raymond was also in our department, too, for goodness sake.
