Chapter 36
- Lucas’ POV
- The scent of blood filled the air. Metallic, sharp, it clung to the walls of the dungeon like a thick fog. I stood outside David’s cell, the heavy door was slightly ajar. I could already hear his shallow breathing, I could smell the fear coming from him. .
- This wasn’t the first time I had interrogated a traitor, but this was different. David had been one of my most trusted soldiers, a pack member who had fought for our survival, bled for us. Yet here I was, ready to rip his secrets out piece by piece, to uncover the truth by any means necessary. A truth he was clearly hiding.
