Chapter 85

  • The moon's soft glow filtered through the sheer curtains, casting an ethereal light across the room and illuminating her delicate features. Unbeknownst to her, she was being watched, every move monitored by a man whose facade of gentleness concealed his sinister intentions. His hand slipped into his pocket, fingers curling around a concealed object, his breath shallow as he savored the anticipation. He had meticulously orchestrated every detail, and every encounter, yet still, the elusive spirit of the golden wolf remained elusive. Since the moment he first laid eyes on her, an inexplicable pull captivated him, drawing him in like a moth to a flame. She possessed the qualities he sought in a Luna, a potential mate, yet her elusive spirit remained beyond his grasp. But for now, his thoughts were consumed by primal urges, by the craving to possess her in every way imaginable. And above all, he yearned for harnessing the power of her elusive golden wolf spirit. His fingers brushed against her cheek, tenderly tucking away a stray strand of hair. As his hand lingered there, he couldn't help but notice the faint stains of blood, remnants of the lives he had just taken. He observed her closely; she was uncertain and unaware of the danger lurking behind his gentle facade. If only he could convey to her the importance of what she possessed. He stood in silence, studying her, hoping she would accept him without hesitation. Yet, deep down, he understood her intelligence far surpassed blind trust in him. Still, he was resolute; he wouldn't retreat. She held something vital, something he needed to obliterate his adversaries.
  • "Good night, Miss Hazel," he murmured softly, exhaling a deep breath as he rose from his seat, lingering for a moment to watch her before disappearing into his own room.
  • A sudden rush of cool air swept through the room, jolting Hazel awake. An eerie sensation prickled at her skin, a silent warning that she was not alone. With a quick flick, she illuminated the room with a soft glow from the lamp, her eyes darting around. Nothing seemed out of place except for the wide-open window. Frowning, Hazel's mind raced, recalling how she had ensured the window was securely closed before retiring for the night. Yet here it was, gaping open like an invitation to the unknown. A shiver of suspicion crept down her spine, her stomach knotting with fear. Her instincts screamed at her to act, and she hurried to shut the window tightly, sealing out whatever unseen presence may have intruded.
