• "Now what? Are you going to send me away to Ruben's house?" Her voice rose, laced with frustration and hurt, causing Wyatt to cease his walk.
• “Answer me,” she added, following him determinedly. Wyatt turned on his heels, gazing down at her with a mixture of emotions.
• He took her hand firmly, pulling her along with him in two long strides until they reached a restroom. Locking the door behind them, he turned on the water tap, the sound of running water filling the small space as he loomed over her. Everything happened so suddenly; Hazel couldn’t comprehend what was unfolding. There was a hint of fear, but also a pinch of boldness in her act to challenge the man who was playing with her emotions.
