Chapter 19
- The next morning, Wyatt stirred and found Hazel sleeping serenely. A gentle smile formed on his lips, but as his gaze shifted, he noticed her flushed cheeks and pale complexion. Concern etched his features, and with a delicate touch, he confirmed her high fever.
- Swiftly, Wyatt rose from his bed, a sense of urgency overtaking him. Checking her temperature, he realized the gravity of her condition. In a heartbeat, he mind-linked Ruben, instructing him urgently to summon Lyra. Hazel, blubbering incoherently due to the fever, drew Wyatt's concern. When Lyra arrived, she inquired about Hazel's condition.
- "She saw me last night," Wyatt admitted, the words heavy on his tongue. A sudden, terrified scream tore through the air as Hazel awoke in fright. In response, Wyatt wrapped his arms around her, offering comfort to ease her trembling form. Lyra gently pressed a syringe, injecting the sedatives into Hazel's arm. Gradually, the tension in her body eased, and her eyes closed, succumbing to the calming effects.
