Chapter 111

  • "Just wondering, are you feeling drained lately?" he inquired.
  • "Yeah, on and off. It could be from being sick, or maybe it's the aftermath of my encounter with Aurum. My body's been through the wringer. Hard to say," she replied, running her fingers through her hair.
  • Wyatt wrapped his arms around himself, his mind swirling with worry. He sensed the magic Zain had cast was mixing oddly with Hazel's own energy. The ring they had used seemed to slow its effects, but it still gnawed at her from within. Hazel, usually so adept at healing, now seemed off-kilter herself. Wyatt couldn't help but wonder why she had forgotten about the bracelet Serene had given her. It was only when he slipped the ring onto her finger that she seemed to recall it. Suddenly, everything clicked for Wyatt. Maybe the magic was deliberately causing Hazel to forget her past, or perhaps there was something else at play. Whatever it was, he knew he had to reach out to Serene for help. If he didn't act fast, he could lose Hazel forever. Standing up, Wyatt pulled Hazel closer, determined to protect her at all costs. Hazel's brow furrowed in confusion as she glanced at him. Wyatt pondered, his thoughts swirling. Could it be Misty? Was she the one behind Hazel's altered state, using some magical herb to manipulate her mind? After all, Misty was the sister of his enemy. Suddenly, a presence made itself known. "Misty is here; I need to prepare," Hazel murmured, catching a whiff of her scent.
