Chapter 84 Aria

• Everything around me is a blur; I can't focus on anything but Alexander's faint, shallow breathing beside me. The ambulance races toward the hospital, though I wish it were moving faster.
• My entire body hums with the adrenaline still coursing through me. My thoughts and prayers are entirely focused on Alexander. His pale face is smeared with blood and marred by injuries, and the rest of his body isn’t any better.
• This is my fault. Completely my fault. If I had told Alexander the truth before the trip, none of this would have happened. He’d be safe, maybe heartbroken, but alive and well. Tears stream down my face again, and I fight to keep from breaking down entirely.
