Chapter 16 Unexpected Encounter

  • Upon hearing this, Xiaoting's fair and tender face turned red instantly. She turned around and glared at Xiaohan, who was devouring potato chips, and said, "Xiaohan, you have a big mouth again."
  • Xiaohan smirked, jumped off the bed with the bag of chips in her arms, walked up to Xiaoting, took two chips, and handed them to Xiaoting, saying crisply, "Brother, here are some chips for you to eat."
  • Xiaoting snorted and opened his mouth to eat the chips from Xiaohan's hand.
  • "If brother eats Xiaohan's chips, he can't be mad at Xiaohan anymore," Xiaohan said with a hint of coquetry.
  • Luyanxi reached out and touched Xiaoting's head, saying softly, "Good son, Mommy supports you and Xiaoyun being together with both hands and feet."
  • "Mommy talks weird, I can't understand." Xiaoting said as he sat down on a chair.
  • Luyanxi smiled, her face full of motherly love, and jokingly said, "So even my little genius at home can't understand some of the things I say?"
  • Xiaoting opened a book and pretended to read, saying, "It's time for this genius to study, Mommy should rest."
  • Luyanxi smiled again, finding Xiaoting's fake seriousness quite amusing. "Alright, alright, shouldn't the little treasure say something to Mommy?"
  • "Goodnight, Mommy," Xiaoting obediently said.
  • "Goodnight, good son," Luyanxi said, holding Xiaohan's hand and walking towards the door.
  • "Goodnight, brother," Xiaohan greeted as she walked.
  • Xiaoting responded with a grunt.
  • Suddenly, Xiaohan stopped, leaving Luyanxi puzzled.
  • She looked down and saw Xiaoting's clear and misty eyes filled with tears.
  • "What's wrong, Xiaohan?" Luyanxi squatted down, looking at her.
  • Xiaoting looked aggrieved. "Brother said goodnight to Mommy, but not to Xiaohan."
  • This statement made Luyanxi somewhat speechless. She turned to Xiaoting and said, "Xiaoting, Xiaohan said goodnight to you."
  • Xiaoting got off the chair, took small steps, and walked over to Xiaohan. He kissed her on the forehead and said, "Goodnight, Xiaohan."
  • The grievance on Xiaohan's face disappeared instantly, and her big eyes turned into crescent moons as she smiled.
  • "Goodnight, brother," she repeated.
  • "Alright, let's not disturb brother's reading. Shall we go?" Luyanxi said, holding Xiaohan's hand.
  • Xiaohan nodded.
  • Before closing the door, Xiaohan said to the room, "Have sweet dreams."
  • Luyanxi led her towards her little room.
  • As they walked, Xiaohan looked up and said, "Mommy, I want to sleep with you tonight."
  • Luyanxi was slightly surprised. "Aren't you going to sleep in your little princess room? Mommy's room doesn't have any toys, you know."
  • "I don't want toys, I want to sleep with Mommy," Xiaohan insisted.
  • Luyanxi was taken aback for a moment, then she ruffled Xiaohan's hair and picked her up, saying, "Alright, let's sleep together tonight."
  • The next day.
  • After instructing Liu Mama, Luyanxi left in her car.
  • On the other side, the lights were on in the luxurious villa of the Huo family, and the servants were busy preparing for Huo Jingran's trip to Sucheng for a memorial ceremony.
  • A military-grade bulletproof Lincoln, accompanied by four Range Rovers, and more than a dozen well-trained bodyguards stood beside the cars, waiting respectfully for Huo Jingran to come out of the villa.
  • The Mercedes-Benz slowly stopped in front of the villa's small fountain. The bodyguards and security guards on-site all turned their attention to the Mercedes-Benz.
  • The car door opened, and the first thing that caught the eye was a pair of beautiful legs in black boots, long and straight, giving people a sense of enjoyment.
  • Following that, a young woman exuding a cold aura from head to toe got out of the car. She wore a black triangular mask on her face, revealing only half of her face.
  • Even though only half of her face was visible, it was still apparent that she had an extraordinary appearance.
  • Her high heels made a clicking sound on the marble floor. The tall figure and graceful body lines made the bodyguards widen their eyes.
  • "Who is she?" Luyanxi asked.
  • One of the bodyguards swallowed nervously and respectfully said, "She's the new bodyguard that Mr. Huo hired for his trip to Sucheng. She's responsible for his safety."
  • "Where did Mr. Huo find her?" Luyanxi asked.
  • "Why are you asking about this?" Huo Jingran asked in return.
  • "Nothing... just feel like I've seen her somewhere before," Huo Jingran smiled and said, "She looks familiar."
  • "Do you know her?" Huo Jingran was somewhat surprised.
  • Luyanxi tried to keep her gaze calm as she looked at Huo Jingran.
