Chapter 88

• ***A WEEK LATER***
• The sound of my phone ringing at the highest pitch wakes me up from my sleep. The sun is fully up, its rays penetrating the medium-sized window of my apartment. I open my eyes wider, the first thing my gaze goes to is the clock on the wall.
• "Argh!" I gasp. "It's late." The ring of my phone again alerts me of the proposed test we're gonna have today. I peer into the screen, it's Mary, my best friend here. Scanning through the call log, I discovered that the first call came from Carter. I don't care answering because I already know why they are calling. It's 8:30 AM, thirty minutes late. The test is supposed to start by 8 AM. Oh my goodness, I need to hurry up and get to class before the forty minutes remaining elapses.
